Like all sports, the guys writing the checks are the ones with legitimate wealth, not the athletes themselves and moto is certainly no different. I've been following the sport for a long time but due to the veil of secrecy that seems to surround all facets of this sport, have never heard much about the guys writing the checks. I recently saw an article on RacerX about Alias that mentioned Mike Grondahl was a co-founder of Planet Fitness (current mkt cap of ~$1.7 billion) and it got me wondering who else we have in the sport that is in that league of wealth. Curious to hear if any of you know.
I always wondered what kind of bucks Mitch Payton has.
Sorry, couldn't resist.............
anyways, isn't pink writing the checks for rch?
otherwise I don't care much about super rich people really.

Bonus Jason Lawrence at -$3.50 for the tacos somebody bought him. JK, he's not on there, I checked though.
Real nice guy the few times I met him, seemed like when the $ started drying up then He wasn't so cool to some people.
The Sport doesn't attract and hold very many big money people.

When he pulled into Ponca in 84 with that bus, it was the talk of the pits. Back then even factory riders just had box trucks, that bus went to another level in coolness. And he was about 12-13 years old then. Crowd around his pits all week was huge.
Wait what was the question?
