I know it is stupid but anyway... When I crack the throttle the front wheel goes up..but then I cannot wheellie for more than few meters. It seems to me like the bike is weak at the first few mm of throttle...or just has weak low end... which is very unusual for a KXF450....it goes ok at WOT...

I changed piston, exhaust valves, spark plug but no difference...The air filter is ok and so is exhaust packing...DFI throws no codes....

Any suggestions?

Any 450 should carry the front wheel as much as you want it to. Sounds like something is wrong and maybe someone else should take it for a spin so you have another perspective. What year is the bike and was this your first time doing motor work?

It is 2014 bike....I bought it used...but it acted the same even before I changed piston, valves etc...

Would the bike have full power at WOT if injector was clogged or if there was not sufficient fuel pressure (bad fuel pump)?

You have to swing your non throttle hand forward and then backward In a pendulum motion . That should keep the front end up long enough to ride a wheelie through rush hour traffic .

I have a 12 kx450f and had a hesitation right off of idle. Roll on the throttle and it bogs and comes right back. New crank, fuel pump, ecu, and a bunch of little stuff, it turned out to be the wire harness. There is a recall and an issue that's been commen. Not sure about 14's but something to look at.

Have a few cocktails and then try again- guarantee you will wheelie enough to rip the rear fender off. I KNOW!

If it doesn't have a powerband in every gear, don't buy it.

I learned that lesson the hard way. I bought a bike once and turned out it only had a powerband in 2nd and 4th. I always double check now. People at the dealership think I'm nuts, but I don't trust those salesmen, even if it is a new bike.

You'll need to order this sprocket from Spacely Sprockets, it's what I have on my bike and I cant keep the front tire on the ground for the life of me.

Did the Craigslist ad say if the bike had ever been raced? My guess is it was his wife's bike and it had pink grips. If so, it's not a race bike. It will never wheelie!

Did it come with a factory power-band?

Yeah I know....i can only wheelie if the bike has at least 170HP:-(((

On the other side...better not to try it again...I could fall....and break my ass:-))

My 2014 KX450 has no hesitation at any throttle position and is fast as hell, must just be your bike. Have a qualified mechanic look at it.

Change out the Flux capacitor and get it up to 88 MPH before you try and wheelie it...

There are more than enough solid suggestions in this thread. Let us know once you've exhausted all of these. I know what it is but I won't tell you until you take pics of all of your attempts.

Did you buy the bike or steal it? I am pretty sure only stolen bikes can do wheelies, at least that's what I have read around here...

Seriously check your front sprocket, could be a missing tooth that the bike notices at lower revs/speed but once all is spinning faster it skips it with out you noticing as much. Iv been around mx bikes all my 37 years and NOTHING would surprise me any more.
