Just turned 15, been riding just under a year with my dad. White DR250 is mine. Its clay too! Blink our front wheels kept locking up because it was caked with mud, it was fun and messy, but a total shit show! Bikes are a 1990 Suzuki DR250S and a 1981 Yamaha DT 175 /29/133391/s1200_20160429_171153.jpg" class="img-fluid" />

We decided to just let it dry and then chip it off. We got most of it off with a stick or two. Boy it that clay slick! If it was just normal dirt, it would have been no problem, but that clay is so damn tacky and sticks to whatever it touches so it just coats your tires and then theres no grip. Was my first experience with this kind of stuff. There was another road like this, and there were ruts hidden under the clay, so that was fun

That old Yamaha is a fantastic bike, we had almost the exact same model when I was really young. Pretty kickass for just about any type of riding you feel like.

NIce,love the DT 175s. I used to go to Fairfield ever June for the Dodge truck rally. We would ride on a friends farm about 10 miles south of Fairfield and drive down all the dirt roads to get there. When it was wet you could barley make it even in 4wd. See if your dad knows where these roads are or Google it for more info.
Take 34 to the car dealership and turn south on S 32nd st. continue to libertyville rd and go west about a mile to Juniper av. south on Juniper, about 2 miles to Indigo Blvd, west on Indigo (this is where the min maintenance Rds begin and start to look like the ones in your pic) turn south on Ivy then west on 270th st,south on Ironwood. Ironwood turns into IA Oak Grove (best Rd in the area w/ big hill and water crossing).when you get to 110th av turn west about a milel to Heather av., turn north on Heather continue to Hickory Rd, turn north on Hickory and you will be back at 270th st. You can take 270th st back to Juniper toward Fairfield.
Sounds complicated but just look at Google map it will make more sense. Warning some of those Rds are very tough when wet.

Buy tons of Shout! Laundry cleaner. Spray it on the bikes and let it sit for ten minutes. The clay will melt off. Rinse and repeat. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Especially on that fine DT175.

Good times! Glad you had fun!

We've been down just about every gravel, dirt, road in the county. My dad is a deputy for Jefferson County for about 10 years now and he knows all of those roads like the back of his hand! And he loves the old DT, sadly he's considering selling it soon to get something bigger like a klr, or a big 600. Im trying my best to get him to not sell it as it has some sentimental value to me. The bike was pruchased new in 81' and all its life up until 2006 ish it was a farm bike. We bought it from the original owner for 500 ish bucks. It hadnt been running for a few years and was kept in a barn covered in a thick layer of dust. I remember some of my most memorable moments as a little kid "helping" my dad with that bike, going for rides, and learning how to ride a motorcycle on it when I was about 12-13. She has just over 10,000 miles and runs like a damn top. I hope he never gets rid of it. Also those road names sound veru familiar.

I grew up riding up and down dirt roads kinda like that, and along the colorado river bottom on sandbars and stuff. Cutting trails through the woods along the river. Hitting natural jumps. Had lots of XR's and even an old Honda 175 sort of like that Yamaha. Definitely the funnest times I ever had on dirt bikes! Mx is fun but just free riding like that is the best.

Agreed! Me and my dad plan to go to an off road park somewhere around Oskaloosa near where I live. Can't wait for that day!

Is it legal ride dirt roads in Utah? Dirt road riding is fun but dangerous at night, you could hit a patch of mud...

Out here in Monsterville they re-named Hershey HWY.

It's now called Meg Parkway.
