I posted this in another forum, but I wonder if you guys feel the same...
I thought it was a little disrespectful that the Volcom dude jumped on the podium and gave BB a hug when the AMA official was in the process of handing him the 2012 250 Motocross #1 plate. Here's the official ceremony that crowns a rider as a champion (his first ever, in this case,) and the AMA guy has to pause and keep his cool on TV while a publicity stunt goes off. Couldn't Volcom have waited 10 seconds until the trophy was in Blake's hand?? Am I being too sensitive here?

Not just you, it was lame. But it's been a lot of years since Volcom was anything more than the the exact thing they pretend to be against.

Didn't Blake kind of shove him away finally? He's was jumping around and wouldn't go away
I was standing right there dude when it all happened.
I was on the left side of the podium behiind the fence and this lady came pushing through the crowd outside the fence and shoved everyone out of the way and yelled through the fence to the AMA officials "get him off the stage"!!!. All I remember is she had "THOR" writing on her shirt....The AMA guys pulled the Volcom dude off the stage and then brought him to the fence where I was standing near the lady that yelled....that lady got in his grill (I mean that screen he looks through on the consume...lol) and said "REALLY DUDE". She was friggen pissed. The AMA guys pushed the Volcome dude outside the fence and he just walked away though the crowd like nothing happened.
No idea who that lady was but I am pretty sure was in charge of keeping the stage clear.

Seemed like a case of heat stroke. Can't think of any other reason this would occur. Sure was out of place. It had to be hot in that suit.

It would have been cool if he was in and out, but he stuck around for too long.

Between 8,000 people showing up (in the moto capital no less) and this douche on the podium, no wonder the WNBA gets more coverage.

I thought it was awkward and stupid. Looks like the AMA dude did too.
The older I get, the faster I was. Posting without a cast on is fun!

Guerrilla marketing. I get it. I also get that it's his championship, not theirs. Don't get in the middle of a presentation of a number one plate that he's been working forever to achieve.
Is there any video footage of this event you guys are talking about?

The dude in the Volcom suit had to be a drunk Homer Simpson or a cranked up Peter from Family Guy.

Nope. That kind of talk is for people with axes to grind. I don't have one.

Have we seen a case where that worked out real well?

Gotta say....it was kind of unprofessional for the Volcom puppet to do that. After winning a race would be disrespectful enough......but Blake was getting the #1......and he screwed it up. I think if Blake would of decked the guy.....he would of had the crowd on his side.
