What are your thoughts on the GPs? My favorite part of the GPs are the different tracks and surfaces that the riders have to adapt to from race to race. I feel like there is always a chance of a new winner or a podium guy in the GPs because of the various track conditions they have to adapt for.

I feel like almost all the US national tracks are prepped the same way and the same guys takes the top 5 spots in the motos. Southwick is the only track that can provide a bit of a shake up with the results.

So my question is: Do you think MX Sports should try to prep some of the tracks in a different way? It seems like all the tracks gets ripped really deep and that makes the racing very similar regardless of where the race is.

Man, I love the GP's. I think I get more excited to watch the 450 GP guys more than our dudes here. I just like how technical a lot of the riders are in the GP's. I know SOME of our guys are that way, but not as much as the European riders.

I do like our tracks here in the states and think we do a pretty good job on prep, but you're right in the fact we need more different types of terrain. I felt like we had some of that in the 90s and that all went away. We need a hard pack track, a sand track, etc.

I don't think MX Sports needs to change the way they prep the tracks, but rather look for new venues with different types of soil. Regardless, I love moto and love watching both the GP's and AMA series.

On a side note I am a huge Cairoli fan after watching that dude ride the wheels off of his KTM in Trentino. Holy crap! Cheers!

Kris,

What are your thoughts on Vince Friese?

We all know Vince's deal. I think he mellowed out a little as the year went on. Most of his moves are his fault and some are not his fault. When you have a track record like VInce's it's hard to shed that image you know? However, his starts are impressive and Mike must of showed him a few things about getting starts? Or maybe Vince should show the 800 what he has been doing cause the dude gets holeshot after holeshot.

Kris I have another question if you don't mind.

I see you have tested both the 2017 250SX and the TC250. The bikes are pretty much identical on paper, but do they have any differences as a rider - which do you prefer, or which (if you had to open your wallet) would you buy (and why)?

Thanks again.

The KTM has a little more bark to it down low, but otherwise they are very similar. If it was just me I would buy the KTM as it pulls a little better down low and for no other reason than I personally like the color scheme more. Think about what you get the best deal on and go that direction. Yes there is a little difference in engine feel, but in this case go with what your wallet is telling you from the inside.

I just want say thanks for shedding some suspension set up light for my bike, 2017 FC250, both in person and in Dirt Rider. Following those suggestions I know I have it dialed for my riding ability after a couple hours.

Kris,
How would you compare the feel and ride between WP CV/Trax vs. other full blown kit suspensions? Obviously WP offers an A-Kit that is considered a bargain compared to some of the others costing between 7-10k. Give me some insight on that and what the differences are. Thanks

What is the preferred setting on that handheld gizmo for a 2017 yz250f with fmf titanium header and 4.1 exhaust?

Also the stock gearing, does it work everywhere or experiment for faster or tight tracks?

How much will you spend on motocross for your son this year? Does he already have sponsors besides dad?

Hey Keefer, some awesome info in this thread thank you!

I got myself a pair of the Soft Starcross 5's because everyone has been raving about them on the Pulp Show, I rode Cahuilla which I thought would be perfect, but man, they felt so slick! I just kept pushing the front end. Maybe the hard base was coming through but I had to take them off and go back to Dunlop MX3S.

What PSI do you run? I remember hearing you say that you run them all over So Cal...
