I was re-watching the Lites Vegas race last night and noticed RV’s bike started losing HP with about 5 or 6 laps to go. His bike wouldn’t get over a triple he had done the whole race. He started having to clip the second jump just to get over it. Dungey was getting over it fine. RV also looked uncharacteristically squirrelly those last laps. He missed quite a few of the triples. Just my observation, but maybe Dungey didn’t run him down as much as RV’s bike started losing HP or something. Re-watch the race. Watch the bike closely. I read somewhere that 4 strokes, hell all bikes, lose HP throughout the moto. Holley said something about RV’s bike during the race on the webcast. Maybe dumb old Jim isn’t so dumb after all.

I was there and while I can't say you're wrong, RV was getting ragged late in the race. His rhythm was off. Might have been the bike causing it, but my impression was it was him. Bike sounded fine.

I'm all about the PC bikes. Just watch the race again. Keep the thought in your noodle as you watch it. After watching it, I was like damn no one saw this. Just seemed that way to me.

Bet James didn't think his PC bike would bomb at Southwick! Didn't all the PC bikes blowup that race? Including lites.

I saw it and thought he was just getting a little excited and breaking the rear tire loose.

James never rode a PC bike...

I noticed he wasn't making that camel hump before the triple, I chalked it up as he got tired and started making mistakes.

Maybe you're right? Tired? I don't think so. Him and his bike weren't flowing that's for sure.

The only thing on James' bike that's not PC is his suspension! And I bet bones works with it as well.

I think his tire was going away, that's what it looked liked to me, the motor sounded fine to at the race if I remember right.

Except for that fact the PC runs Showa and Factory Kawi runs KYB, right? Why would bones work KYB when the shops specialty is Showa?

Poto lost the race for himself, quit trying to make excuses.

I thought while watching that his clutch was letting go. You could see that the pike didn't have the snap that it did earlier in the moto. When he didn't say anything about it at the end of the moto (like RC used to do, never talk shit about those who pay your check) I thought for sure it was a bike problem.

I am amazed that someone can watch a video of a race and measure the horsepower of a bike.......

That's real skill right there. I'd put yourself out to bid to a race shop so they no longer have to dyno a bike ever again!

I even posted something about this right after the race. I thought RV slowed... Hard to tell though. I saw the first time he tagged that little step over with his rear tire before that first triple. Would RV get ragged? I have never seen him pressured till this year. Should make for an interesting outdoors(but not if the PC bike start blowing).

And yes, that meltdown with Mikey is probably the number 1 WTF moment in MX. Really, if someone knows of one better, please let me know.

Well,we saw his rear end break loose at least 3 times in the last 3 laps, so who knows how many other times he did that the camera missed?RD deserved the win,no doubt.I'm guessing there was some trouble that RV(like RC) won't mention and just go on to the outdoors. He didn't seem really down on himself for getting caught from behind and that doesn't happen much,if ever!Laughing

You guys hit the nail on the head. Tire was gone for the last 3+ laps. Can't wait
for the outdoors. I guess will all see who is done, and who is just plain fast. RV
will be tested this year, but barring being taken out by red bikes, torrential downpours,
or injury right before the season starts, my moneys on that redhead.
