Im looking for some suggestions on a used 250F. My son outgrew his TTR and I have 3000 to 3500 to spend.

Any deals out there, what can I get for 3500 and what brand should I get?

around here that could get you a decent 2008ish slightly modified bike. I would go with a Honda 2010 or newer or a 2009 or newer suzuki if you are looking for it to last!

You should be able to find a 09 or newer YZ. I would look for a vet bike or someone that bought to ride with there kid and has low hours.

check mx trader, ebay etc! you ll find one depends on how far you want to drive. 09 yzf and crf s are solid 250 s . and you can get a new one around $4500.

wow, this many posts without being blasted for buying him a 4stroke? Vital must be slipping.

If I buy used, I try to find one that a vet rider had and rode a few times before wanting something newer. Happens alot around me

Good advice. You would have to twist my arm really hard before I would even consider buying a used 250F.

Agreed. I've owned 2. They blow up, its not a matter of if its when.

Buy new or buy a two stroke. At least they're cheap to rebuild when they pop.

They are all pretty solid, as long as you keep oil changed and air filter clean, keep in mind dealer location, parts available, etc. You can save some money if your willing to drive, if time is limited, bike shipping might be cheaper than the day off work and gas etc. What his weight, skill , skill level, bike intended use? mxtrader.com, then click to moto x classified. try cernics.com, leftovers also.

My co worker bought a 2010 YZF250 for $3500 last week. Rich kid that was getting a 450 and just wanted to move the bike quick. Found it on Craigslist in Phoenix.

If you're on a budget and you get a uesd 250f it'll be likely you'll have a budget blowout.

Get a mint stock 125, for the cost of a rear tyre and tube you can put in a new topend that you can do yourself at home in 40 minutes.

Dont buy a 250f because "it's easy to ride" if you're got anykind of budget!
