Looks like my work is sending me to New York for training the week after Unadilla. I'm thinking about flying up early for the race. Any tips on where to try and stay?

Wheat...that you?

What airport? Last I was there was 09 and I think we flew into Syracuse.
We hotel'd it in Utica. It is north of the track 40 miles or so. Take road 8 south.
Easy "country" drive south to the track. Track is on the east side of the road and you can't miss it.

Highsider... I'll actually be flying into La Guardia sometime on Friday. My training is in Morristown, NJ so I have to fly in down there. Looks like I'll have a 3.5 or 4 hour drive north to get to Unadilla. If I'm that close, I have to check out the race.

Lando356... Thanks!

Highsider... Just noticed the Wheat part. Yeah, this is me.

I thought I remembered you. Didn't you take a biking vacation down our way?

Look for somewhere to stay in Oneonta. It's a nice college town with some good restaurants and nice hotels. Best town I've found that's close by.

I usually just sleep in an Amish Buggy somewhere on Rt. 20.

There's more hotel options and food selection in Utica, but Norwich is a bit closer.

However, Norwich only has a few options on hotels and not too much as far as places to eat. There's a couple of good places in Norwich but the one place to keep in mind for Unadilla is always the New York Pizzeria in downtown New Berlin.
