First of all...much respect to Bowers and a great career. Im not trying to blow this guy up but were any of you disappointed/ surprised to see that he raced the support class at the Bercy SX? Thats a freaking support class and Bowers is way more talented than that. Is he trying to build results for a decent ride or just lining his pockets. Dont freaking blow me up for starting this thread im just looking for a discussion and some opinion. Discuss........

(Bowers is an awesome rider BTW. He did a local arenacross race and his corner speed was mind blowing)

He is racing for Bud Kawasaki, making money and getting in the groove, rather than sitting home waiting for an ECU

Thats a good point. At least he’s out there getting in the mix and being seen rather than waiting.

I think this was a last minute deal? But yes, it's a bit weird that he does the 250 class. I'm sure that he would like to go head to head against Hampshire that should be a competitor for him in 2018 SX?

He didn't expect to go, hasn't been riding a 250f at all and received a call. He is on privateer island with a wife and daughter to take care of. If you got a phone call to make money racing wouldn't you go? Matthes reported that Bowers is on a Bud Racing Kawi with soft suspension. Not to mention the guy is huge for a 250f.

loved the point of the race when the guy started riding the wide bike trying to brake check and out arenacross Tyler Bowers.. watched it several times, hilarious when Tyler nods his head after the first incident like "OK, you want to play.." haha!!

I feel slightly bad saying it, because the guy was clinging to a good race in the top five.. but it resulted in an epic take out!

How long is the kid, married excuse going to last? Mx,sx is dangerous. And there are plenty other jobs out there that are safer.

The dude is making money doing what he loves, why does it matter how he makes it happen.

No doubt, on that. Some say they have a family and won't hang it out or take sketchy chances.

To the original question... The wife and kids have nothing to do with hanging it out. I was simply pointing out that the guy has a family, and if a promoter is willing to pay you to come race on a 250f then why wouldn't you take it? Bowers is good people and extremely talented. He belongs on a 450 racing full time. He has his work boots on this off season and he will do well this year.

Baby’s gotta eat. It was a last-minute deal to be a wild card on a bike he’d never ridden, and on a team (and suspension) he’d never worked with. He hadn’t ridden a 250 in a year. I’d say he did all right for himself.

Got a chance to do some photo stuff with Bowers back in July and was surprised at how down-to-earth and easy-going he was. Didn't know what to expect going into it, but I came away with even more respect than before. Glad to see he's out there making some money for his family and having fun. Hope he finds a good ride for next year.

My bad ,didn't mean that in a bad way. Props to him for racing instead of sitting around.

The Bear has the talent, but has never had the luck and the race smarts he’s needed to succeed consistently in Supercross. I’d like to see him with MotoConcepts instead of Freise.

I would take that trade myself. I like Bowers and hope he gets some decent support. Man this sport is brutal to everyone besides the top five

A little bit off topic but Matthes said Bowers told his team the suspension was too soft and they started making it softer.. Silly

Say what you want about Friese but he manages to get quite a bit of air time. Not sure Bowers would provide much of it in the 450 class.

I think Bowers could get 16th in the 450 main just like Friese does, maybe even be the top Motoconcepts rider beating Brayton if he’s “on” and healthy.

I like Bowers a lot and hope he gets something for 2018 Supercross. As others have said, he has paid to go there and race the 250 class so that is what he did.
