With that big win from Barcia and a huge performance by Tomac, do you think 2013 will be the last chance for Trey Canard?

I don't think Honda will let Tomac go to another team when he will be in the premier class, and after some several seasons, I do think Factory Honda Team has a brighter future with those two raising stars.

Another question that appears in my mind is, in case Canard can not set a good season, could end up in TwoTwo Motorsports? Maybe a Geico Honda 450 second rider or a substitute on an eventual K-Dub retirement?

I wish him the very best. He's a great person and rider. I think he just signed a two year deal, so I'm hoping he can get through two complete seasons and get a championship. I don't think it's his last chance because everyone knows what he's capable of. Remember Villopoto had no championships and a lot of injuries his first two 450 seasons also.

I thought for sure he would race the MEC,, is he still not recovered from injury? or just not worth getting hurt again?

A great day starts with the smell of bean oil in the morning

I think Trey's contract runs through 2014, so no- 2013 will not be his "last chance".

When's Tomac going to race 450's? 2014? Will Factory Honda run a three guys team?

I predict there will be a significant bidding war for Tomac sometime between May and July 2013. Honda will have the opportunity to retain his services.

he just spanked the boys in Texas last weekend and thought for sure he'd be at MEC, can only guess he isn't quite ready yet!!

Trey will be fine. He's taking his time getting things back up to snuff...and I'm sure figured that if he wasn't 100% for the MEC then why risk being out for the 2013 season too. I don't see him as a 2013 champion...but he'll definately win some motos.

So after 1 race you want to give Barcia the SX title and put Canard out to pasture? Canard probably hasn't started riding SX yet. That is my guess. I don't think he has been back on a bike that long. These guys usually start out riding MX for a while after being out with injury before getting back on a SX track. My guess is Canard will be back to his winning ways early in '13. Let's get 6 races in to SX 2013 and then see where Barcia and Canard are...

Why am I not surprised by the question. Trey's fine and he's a good salesman.

People have been trying to retire KW for what? 15 years?

Trey's fine and looked awesome this weekend!

Yes those whoops are 3 feet tall he is skimming!

Top Jimmy was having a little fun also.

Treys bike always looks like its set up really well, shows so much balance and composure

Trey will be fine. After he wins the SX title next year he will sign for another few years. And Tomac will replace Chad when he retires at the end of 2013....

I notice he is still riding the '12. I guess he wants to be up to speed on a bike he knows before testing the 13?

California testing coming up very soon. Get all of his new settings right on the 13, and the new stuff will be sent back home. By the looks of the finishes by Honda at the Monster Cup they certainly are already getting them dialed in.

I wouldn't bet against a healthy Trey Canard......no matter who is on the gate. .....and he still has the coolest style in the sport.

No broken bones for Top Jimmy just really beat up from it

From the outset, Trey's surgeon said ride in 6 months, race in 12 months. He has had goals that be has met at each doctor's appointment, so he is right on schedule. We all thought Swan would just be a good race to get his boots a little wet. As I have said, I don't know where he'll stack up at first, but he is mentally and physically very strong.

As always, there is someone who understands just the opposite.

I'm not putting Canard outside a Factory Honda rig, neither Barcia on top of the 450 class. I'm just saying that Barcia had an impressive ride as well as Tomac did. With those two young guys under the same umbrella, Honda has a good future (both won lites SX titles this season).

So I'm just wondering what they will do next year with Eli. I do like Trey A LOT, in fact he is one of my favourite riders so I wish him the best. And the best would be an impressive 2013 season, giving him momentum and letting him forget the last injuries he had.

So, with that scenario, what Honda would do? Three fantastic racers racing 450's in the factory squad? One of them in two two? One of them along K-Dub?

Honestly, I do not think Honda will let go Tomac neither Canard. That's it!

Trey, has the heart, skill, and work ethic of a champion. It is only a matter of time until it all comes together for him. You would be foolish to bet against him.
