The guy only crashes once a year. The bad thing is when he crashes he breaks something.

Super cool dude with a good story. The guy can't catch a break.

i smell a retirement coming,

this reminds me of watching TP199 02-05. injury after injury.

So liked and such a great attitude and just a guy everyone wants to root for, but at this point i'd rather see him call it a day.

I dont think its even a question about being able to come back from AN injury. he's done it more times than i can count. but at some point he needs to evaluate whether racing pro moto is still worth it when he's not even 30 yet.

GWS. Trey is the perfect example of why we need to make 250sx a full season and no pointing out. He hasn't been very good on the big bike. I kinda hope he calls it a career. This has to be getting old for him.
Hasn't been very good? He's one of the very few in the field that have won multiple 450 SX's also winning both a SX and an outodoor OA. Maybe not very good compared to and RV or dungey or tomac, but he's certainly one of the very elite guys.

The Ktm is cursed 1st year riding for Wilson he got hurt now trey
The curse isnt KTM .... its Canard bro, he is always prepetually injured. Literally like every 4 months, and no its not divine intervention telling him to move on for 2 reasons: 1. Because that literally has no correlation to religion and faith and 2. This has been happening to him SINCE he hit the scene so all of a sudden a higher power is telling him a different story about his crashing that seems to be a revolving door?
I hate to see anyone hurt but sheesh his track record is ridonkulous!

Don't forget Dungey 2012 SX Season

Ryan Dungey - Broken Collarbone
Comment: Dungey underwent surgery earlier this week to repair the damage sustained in a crash prior to St. Louis. It is not yet known how quickly Dungey will be able to rejoin the series

I wonder who will take his place on KTM next year? I assume that this is his last year.

Baggett? Or a rookie?

Enough is enough Trey, hang up the boots, stop putting yourself through the pain, go and live an more enjoyable life.

The frequency of him being injured, it has to have become almost a placebo effect for him. If you religiously got injured every couple of months riding a bike, it would have to be in the back of your head every time you rode "ok, I'm going to crash somewhere". He has to be mentally beat. I feel for the guy and hope he has a speedy recovery.

This is ridiculous. Man it's been nothing but awful for him ever since he broke his femur outdoor testing in 2011. Yet another case of what could have been. One of the only ones that could match Villopoto's speed on occasion.

There would be no shame in Canard retiring right now. The guy has given racing 100% for many years. He is one racer that I would not worry about in retirement. I think his best work in life is yet to come.

Speaking of that when did the east/west series start and has there ever been a legitimate push to move it to a full season like the 450's? I know supercross started with 500's and 250's I just dont know when the lesser cc class was split, maybe it was the whole time I have no idea.

Trey is 27 or 28? I agree it's time to start thinking about the next stage of life. Ever since moving to 450s in '11 the injuries have been absolutely relentless, some of them quite serious. Better to hang it up now and have some money in the bank and a body that can still function, IMO

26, be 27 in September.
Collarbone is pretty minor especially compared to his other injuries so maybe this one will be relatively easy to bounce back from.
Nobody would blame him or any rider out there for walking away at any time. The pro level of this sport is so dangerous it's frankly a little (or a lot) stupid if we're being honest. Selfishly I hope he sticks around and wins a few more races.

There is a pretty good article on Trey in the June issue of MXA. They touch on the accident with his dad. Dude was 12 years old and was the first one on the scene. So gnarly.Sad

7 seasons ago. I was standing near the corner where Pourcel went down and busted his shoulder that day in the first moto.

Sad to see Trey going through this, maybe its time to get out before something worse happens...

Definitely a mental mess, has been through a lot and I assume he must lose focus on the track. He has speed but just does not have whatever else it takes to stay off the ground. Definitely a bummer after he he ruined everyone in outdoors on the 250.

How many times as he been injured since turning pro anyway? Anyone have a legit number, because I'm pretty sure it's been every year since going to the 450.
