Yeah it's not like he threw down the fastest lap at Daytona (roughest track of the season) or anything.

+1, Stewart is a funny character, if you pay attention closely he contradicts himself quite often. On another note, so do many others via corporations and or riders. A fine line is drawn between confidence and arrogance.

Obviously, interviews can be vague, or candid. I am speaking in overall awareness, not just of a single interview. People tend to think too short minded.

you are correct, that is why i love some of mathes' podcast with riders who are retired such as Mcgrath, Emig, JMB etc because we get their real honest opinions there and they can even elaborate on things that they might not have been able to when they were under contract with tons of sponsors etc.
