I wanted to share some photos of the build with everyone on here. I'm currently putting all of the pictures in the bike check section, The bike took me about 5 months to complete between working, riding and making seat covers. The bike started as a 2005 RM250 all stock with some major bottom end issues. And was completely framed and had every single bearing seal and part replaced. I wanted to build a retro bike that would stand out, and figured I could pull this one off as a new style 1992 RM250 replica, I have raced the Sleepy Hollow 2 stroke shoot every year since it started ,Its a really fun event So I called my friend Mike McDade right away and told him what I wanted to do and asked him if he wanted to race it in the Pro Class, He was aboard instantly, For those that know Mike hes a solid person and a family man so I had no problem building the bike for him to race. We had some great sponsors aboard to help with some of the parts cost and discounts. I went with some solid companys that I trust and ones that match the styling I was looking for. I just wanted to thank, Ripped Vinyl graphics, Mika Metals, Ksr Wheels, Bills Pipes, Rocket Valley engines and suspension, Belray oils, cheapass racing, Ransom Bikes, checkers powder coating, and a few friends along the way Eric Nandal, Wayne Ransom, Scott Lukaitis, Rob English. I can't wait to choose another bike to build. All of the photos will be in bike check soon let me know what you think.

Kudos for picking the ugliest rm for your replica lol. Seriously though, as long as you like it that's all that matters. Nice work!

Ummm??......He mentioned that he wanted to do a 92' RM 250 replica type build....only on a newer chassis. You may not agree with the graphics.....but that's what they looked like in 92'. Not my first choice either.....but for a 92' Replica......it looks great!

Pictures are up in bike checks, I chose the 1992 Suzuki to retro probably because it was one of the craziest looking bikes to ever be sold in the dealerships. Some find it obnoxious and some think its gorgeous, I personally like different and that bike was definitely different, Also felt it was not going to be easy to pull off especially due to the seat.

Amazing bike! Damn I love those early 90's bikes, some of the coolest (and most out there) styling's IMO.

Different is a good way to put it but nice resto job!! (need thumbs up emoticon)

No doubt that bike will draw even more attention to the talented Mr. McDade.

Those 93 (I think) KX's were my favourite. Used to walk past the Kawi dealer everyday after school and drool over the KX's. Have often thought about putting a retro KX theme on my 450 , just unsure how well it would translate.

Excellent build, very well done. I say that knowing full well that I really disliked the camo seat on my 92 RM250 (the stickers went by-by right away). Props to you for choosing such a controversial bike to model it after and then pulling it off so well.

The 92 RM's had people shaking their heads because they were so fugly. I thought the same.

However, that is a bad ass retro build. I love it. Definitely different and definitely super cool.

I'm with you on this one. I was only 4 at the time, but I remember my pops had one and we always called it the banana bike. I think it's awesome now.

Guess I could have said it better and I agree the build is spot on. Not a fan of the look but the OP did a great job with the build.

Hey Pete.

We can be retro bros. Retbros. You can be 1992. I'll be 1994.
