Wouldn't be vital without some good ole bashing of the track.
Personally the main issue I had was the landing of jumps being so steep and cupped out it doesn't give the riders a smooth landing and can kick the front end forward.

the track was too easy and the bikes are too fast

Most of the riders told me they thought it was fairly technical...

All things considered it would have been easy to accept a swamp for a track. That crew did did a fantastic job of giving both the riders and fans a quality racing surface.

Not in love with the big gap on the dragons back and downsides are getting ridiculously short .

I was just spouting the average vital post about the track

I thought it was great. Those guys did an incredible job this week, especially considering the rain leading up to the event.
Racing was awesome, if a little tight in spots. My personal feeling is that any issues are more related to how close in speed these guys are than any track design / maintenance issues

Thought the track was great. Lots of different options in the rythym lanes, technical rutted turns, many places to pass and a nice long lap. Only thing I wasn't too keen on was the split start, but thought it was good other than that

I think it was good. Not always they should race a highway/flowing track. Great for racing.

I liked most of it, but with the jump in the middle of the gate, the outer half was at a huge disadvantage heading to turn one.

I thought the track was great. You can tell the transitions were steep which was tough for the riders and that is a good thing.

The split gate was useless and counterproductive, other than that it seemed alright for a season opener after a biblical flood.

Yep, they did a great clean-up job. I didn't see one Bible on the track.

This is a pretty fair criticism, I didn't get the logic of it personally but at the very least it was nice to see something new being tried.

It does baffle me how steep landings are. I just always thought jumps needed a nice smooth landing. I would be freaking terrified trying to land on what looks more like a jump than a landing but that is why I'm not a professional. Smile

I think it allowed them to change things up in the rest of the design by having the over bridge. I don't recall any other track where they use the entire start straight exactly the same as during the start.

The idea of coming back over the start gate to use reuse more of the track is a good call, but splitting the gate like that wasn't. (imo) A smaller jump to just clear the gates and leave them all in a row would make more sense. And the flat turns, I think could at least have somewhat of an outside berm. Over all, the crew did a great job and the use of floor space was most excellent.

Loved that it was just over 1 min lap times, had some good passing spots that made for great racing, the over under was cool, and that it was dry.

Didn't like the landings as others have mentioned...seemed like too many guys were casing and landing awkward.

Overall I thought the track was good and they did a good job considering the weather all week. I Would have liked to have seen the actual starting line moved up and closer to the landing of the over under, not so much in the middle, and balance out the sides to the first turn....I'm guessing there are some placement and functionality issues with the gate that make it sit the way it was.

Is it me or haven't the jump landings been pretty steep for some time? Like early 2000 on. I have a friend that rode at the Pontiac silver dome the day after SX in 00-01 and he was amazed that the take offs and landings were like walls.

Yeah, they have to figure out a way to show the track as it is. People watching at home would freak.
