Outdoors only? No sx skills included. Hard to rank, the euro boys don't do sx.

I would add the Dunge to that list.

It's literally not fair at all to rank these unless you split them into GP and AMA.

Here's why:

It's not fair to the AMA guys to completely disregard SX, since that's what they spend over half of the year doing. Simultaneously, it's not fair to use SX as something to diminish the GP guys, since they don't even ride it.

450 AMA:

Roczen
Dungey
Tomac
Anderson
Barcia

250 AMA:

Webb
Savatgy
JMart
AMart
Forkner

450 GP:

Gajser
Febvre
Cairoli
Desalle
Nagl

250 GP:

Herlings
Ferrandis
Anstie
Seewer
Jonass

Mx because it's universal.

If Dungey wasn't out he would be on my list for sure.

I'd agree with that list as well. Since it's "at the moment" and Dungey is not racing he wouldn't make the list now but surely would when he's back in form.

Well then at the moment Tomac should be #1, Rczen should not be on the list if Dungey isn't, and Webb should be in front of Herlings since we just watched a race where Tomac and Webb won. You guys are un real. Get over it already

Didn't barcia finish second to Tomac ahead of all the guys on your list in the first moto. Did you miss the race this weekend at charlotte.

Wait until after the MXdN and lists may well change,Webb may well figure in the 450 class somewhere and the GP riders may well change

Cairoli is not a top 5 rider at the moment. No chance in hell. MBR's list is the one that makes the most sense.

Also its not fair you have them split into two groups,
Pro and Sandbaggers. Sorry, Pro and Novice Pro.

If it's a Supercross and Motocross, I would put Dungy head of Roczen. But I agree, it's not fair to compare ama and GP racers since we have too little info to go.

Webb and Herlings should be side by side with 1 moto win each TBH.

Since the topic is about the top 5 "riders" at the moment, Christophe Pourcel would reside on my list. The guy can go out on nearly any track, SX or MX, and lay a faster lap than any other rider. Top 5 racers or champions? Debatable.

I'd say it's hard to make a case that Tim Gajser is better than Eli. I mean they've only raced each other on 450s once and Eli won..

He's as good of a rider as anyone but he isn't the same racer that he once was

Dungey has more titles, wins, etc. than all of them. Not an opinion.

I agree, but by that logic don't you kind of have to shoehorn reed and stew in there? (Just to be clear, I don't think they belong in there, haha)

CP hasn't even got a top 5 in SX 450 and only has one podium finish outdoors here. Not even debatable.

You have Herlings on this list but he just got beat by Webb for the overall and he got beat by the rookie Forkner in a Moto. That is a pretty big slap to Barcia who finished 2nd to Tomac in the first moto ahead of Geyser, straight up. I love the GPS and it's my savior after I have to endure the first couple rounds of superposercross, but you guys have got to get real.
