Let's face it, a fifth is a lot like "winning" for the other 16 guys out there.

1. JS
2. RV
3. RD
4. CR

5. ?????

Metcalfe, Millsaps, Brayton, Tedesco, Short, Grant, Hill, Windham, Weimer, Canard????? I'm sure I'm leaving out a dozen others as well.

I would put Milsaps in 5th now that he is training with James and knows how fast you have to go to be in that pack

Brayton or Metcalf. I'm leaning towards Brayton

Good point. You could be right.

Pretty hard to pick. That is ten guys that are all SUPER fast. This season is gonna be a trip.

So 5th place matters this season? Who took 5th last year? Do they get a cookie or something?

Also don't count out Stroupe. That kid hauls ass and it wasnt that long ago that he was leading those goes for a few laps. He gets good starts and has some crazy speed at times

By the way, your initials mean nothing to core moto bros if you don't add the number.

I like Metcalfe a lot too. He's coming back on the RMZ, which he is used to. He should be solid.

Brayton, on the other hand, I don't think so. He might surprise me but he is new to the Honda and riding under the pressure of that big red wing seems to weigh heavily on a lot of people. I hope he rides smart and stays off the friggin ground.

It's a new year, and who knows who's ready, and who isn't?

That's why we have the races.

True! He's another one I left off. I'm sure I left out a few other worthy riders too. You never know about Alessi too. He gets good starts and goes good everywhere but the whoops. If the track has no whoops or easy whoops, he could easily nail a holey and stay inside the top 5 for 20 laps.

Agreed.

But I'd prefer to see Metcalfe get up there too. He's a helluva competitor and moved half way around the world to do this shit. The guy is as fit as they come too.

Finally, I understand the question. I still have no intention of giving a serious answer BP58.

Assuming your top 4 spots are occupied by the top 4 riders, I'm taking Short for 5th.

my money is on the guy that crosses the finish line behind the guy that finishes 4th.

I like Short. Hard not to. But I'm not sure he is gonna beat some of those other guys....unless he nails the start.

I think Trey is the only one that can run with them all year and get some wins. Others that may get in the mix are too many to list this year, but I don't think anyone has said Short yet. He's been the best of the rest (or at least close) for a while and is back on a Honda so starts and consistency should be pretty standard for him.

I said Short in the original post. Whistling

Also, someone else beat you to the punch and called him for fifth. You both might be right. Amazing how deep the field is this year.

Shorty was bangin some killer starts the last time he was on a red bike, would be really cool to see those back!

Ivan got great starts last year a bunch also.

Behind the fab 5 there is a good dozen guys, and the order could be very different each week. Will be cool to see who will break out of that bunch and challenge for some box...it could happen!
