Help, please Smile

Trying to get a picture of who's racing which region. I googled and couldn't find a definitive list.

Also, care to pick your favorites?

Thanks.

No one really knows whos racing what coast till the week before. Usually the teams tell all their riders to be ready for A1 then they pick. Also injuries come into play. Teams dont really let the cat out of the bag early anymore. Top riders will probably be savatgy, forkner, J martin, craig, plessinger, A martin, and id say cianciarulo if hes healthy. Cianciarulo did win 3 out of the 5 sx races hes raced, but that was in 2014 so we'll see how he does.

It might still be a little while before you hear, as a bunch of the teams don't put it out until later. I think plessinger said he would be west though. And if TLD is still doing there West only thing then that's a few riders there too

Ah, I feel kind of dumb now lol.

Kind of wondering who Jmart will be stacked-up against.

Wait and see, I guess.

TLD started racing the east coast last year (when they became the factory 250 KTM program).

Can't argue with that. He should be a title contender if he stays healthy. I think Savatgy will also be strong in either division. PC could win both 250SX championships.

GuyB included coast info for some of the teams in his silly season article:

West:
RJ Hampshire
Christian Craig
Mitch Oldenburg
Shane McElrath
Chris Alldredge
Scott Champion
Tyler Bowers
Hayden Mellross
Chris Howell
Fredrik Noren
Austin Forkner
Justin Hill
Kyle Chisholm

East:
Jeremy Martin
Chase Sexton
Jimmy D
Joey Savatgy
Adam Cianciarulo
Alex Martin
Jordon Smith
Luke Renzland
Nick Gaines
Cameron McAdoo

Obviously teams can make changes all the way up to A1, but I think this is a pretty solid look (still missing Husky, JGR, etc. though).

I'm pretty sure I read where Matty B will be on the West Coast for JGR.

Alex and Jeremy Martin on the East with Philthy Phil and Osborne as well.

Alex, Jeremy and Phil all in the same class! That's gonna be entertaining as hell. I can't wait to hear the post race interviews with matthes

I hope a young gun comes in and dominates. Savatgy, the Martins, Bowers and others have had plenty of seasons to shine. Time for some new blood to come in and make it interesting. Hoping to see Forkner win a title.

Wow. Looking at those lists (thanks, GD2), a favorite in either region is not so clear-cut.

Should be great racing.

(Going off this) Weird? Normally West is the "stacked" coast. Hill v Forkner (most likely the latter) for the West title, then the East will be entertaining haha

McElrath was getting solid results in 250SX East, last year. Then carried it over to outdoors, until he got hurt at Southwick. Not sure when he started riding again, but if he's well prepared expect to see him on the podium regularly. He seemed to have made significant progress last year, and may be on to something.

This is where I could see the riders being and what place group they will be in. Maybe help you pick your fantasy a little easier. However I don't no where everyone is in there preparation and where they will land east or west. But this should be a good benchmark as far as results go on either coast. A couple of the news kids are unknown so you could see them have a canard rookie sx year or it could be a year of learning. We will see.

West:
Savatcy 1-3
Justin hill1-3
Tyler bowers4-6
RJ Hampshire4-6
Christian Craig1-3
Shane McElrath4-6
Chris Alldredge7-8
Scott Champion
Hayden Mellross
Chris Howell
Fredrik Noren9-
Kyle Chisholm7-8

If forkner is on this coast I would put him with the 1-3 group (basically switch savatcy because they are said to be on opposite coasts and I see savatcy better on West and forkner better on east.

East:
Forkner1-3
Adam C4-5
Jeremy Martin1-3
Chase Sexton2-6 unknown
Jimmy D6-8
Alex Martin1-3
Jordon Smith4-5
Oldenberg6-8
Luke Renzland6-8
Nick Gaines not sure.
Cameron McAdoo2-6 unknown

If savatcy is on this coast I say he's 1-3. Think he's better on West tho.

That seems a pretty fair run down Jeff

What I find funny is that on Matthes' prediction of 250 guys for the most part it is a flip flop of 2016's coasts minus the graduating champions.

2016
Top West Coast Guys:
Webb (Graduating)
Savatgy
Craig
A Martin
Osborne
Harrison
Oldenburg

2016
Top East Coast Guys:
Malcolm (Graduating)
J Martin
Plessinger
Justin Hill
Davalos
Bisceglia
McElrath
Bowers
Hampshire

2017 Projected
Top West Coast Guys:
J Martin
Plessinger
Justin Hill
Davalos
Bisceglia
McElrath
Bowers
Forkner

2017 Projected
Top East Coast Guys:
Savatgy
Craig
A Martin
Osborne
Harrison
Oldenburg
Hampshire
Cianciarulo

We will see how the coasts shape up in a few weeks. But I will be watching Plessinger, Hill, and Forkner on the west coast while Savagty, Oldenburg, and Cianciarulo could be interesting on the east coast.
