Has anyone purchased gear from ebay.com..... Specifically from sacalsurplus? It has a 99.7% positive feedback. His prices are extremely cheap…. And prices are what gives me concern. I would rather buy authentic brand than knock off brand (I am not saying this outfit is selling knock offs. I know from prior outside studies on high end brands sold on ebay a high % were knock offs). Please advise.... Thank you, bd

Example: $99.00 for JT Racing gear (pants and jersey)

motosport.com = ebay.com? (apples and oranges)

The items you purchased from motosport were closeouts. Example, (1) size 36 Fox pants. That is a fire sale after the company offers its first sale (example 2012 gear sale because 2013 gear is right around the corner).

Although ebay is now a venue for retail sales, it was initally an online auction site. Additionally, LVHS had an audit of its goods sold on ebay with 85%+ of them knock offs.

If there are people on here who have purchased from sacalsurplus, are satisfied, and feel the brand they purcahse is authentic.... I am going to buy. I can buy two sets of gear from sacalsurplus for the price of 1 at BTO and motosport.

xnationalwrench.... my intution is telling me the same. My wallet wishes someone would say its legit. I will purchase from BTO.

I ordered a set of Fly Kinetic a couple months ago off ebay. It was from ghdiscountatv tho. It was cheaper than the places I usually shop (Rocky Mountain, or BTO), and it was the only place I couple find my size in that gear. No problems, came exactly as described and shipped super quick.

That sacalsurplus has 1501 ratings and an average of 99.7% positive feedback. I'd say you're safe to cash in on that smokin' deal.

I have had good luck with Ebay. I bought msr gear that was "blemished"(coulda fooled me). I also bought a Fox V3 off Motosport for $149 2 years ago. Not really apples and oranges.....a dealer that sells on ebay can just be another entity for a retail company. Dave

For what it's worth, a number of people have bought that JT gear from them in the past week and appear to be satisfied.

HERE

Again, I wouldn't be worried about it. I've had a fair bit of experience with ebay and if they were selling knockoff, it would show in their rating. In the past 12 months they have only had ONE negative feedback, and it was because the guy ordered silver and it showed up white.

Just ordered some JT pants and gloves from sacalsurplus. Apparently they over charged me 23.00 for shipping, so they refunded it to me. I would have never had any idea that I was over charged if they hadn't contacted me. I've never had a seller do this for me on ebay. They seem pretty honest. Can hardly wait for the gear to arrive.

He has had the same username since 1999 so he looks like a solid seller.

Ask yourself this, why would anyone knock off JT? They either bought out or made a deal with JT to move the stuff that didn't quite go over like they thought it was going to. I have bought and sold stuff on Ebay for at least 15 years and only been screwed once(by a buyer). I don't expect to get current model anything for 10% of retail but that JT stuff is neither current nor at 10% of retail. It's real, or at least as real as can be without the Gregorys.

$129 for the ALS2 helmets is a pretty smokin deal, they were about $400 when they came out. I wouldn't wear one but it's a good deal for someone in the market for a cheaper helmet.
