I think he will be knocking on the door of the podium by the end of the year, very loose style he has been one of the best jumpers in the UK I have watched him since he was on 80s I think he can go all the way, he is smart and can handle pressure- the only thing Tommy needs now is a title, 2nd in the British series, 2nd in the world and he will be there in the AMA series this year too.

one of the best looking bikes in the pits also. You could tell he was pretty nervous in his interviews, but i am pumped for him to do well this year!

All about experience. Will be a good season for him if he carries on. But should be a great year for him next year regarding supercross.

I interviewed Tommy real quickly before the race and he did seem nervous, but I was impressed with how he handled it and how he made it through unscathed.... Remember, JMB himself's first SX ended on a haybale alongside the first triple!

I also thought Max Anstie looked good, but a bad start doomed his chances. Both of the lads could be top five in PHX.

Max did have a great ride, he's a really young kid too so he will be around for a long time, will be fun to watch him move up through the ranks

haha let the ktm bashing begin
Not bashing, I honestly was scared for him in practice, that bike was popping and sputtering so bad it would scare anyone.

Well I will trust you on that because I wasn't there. Some jetting issues maybe? Who knows? He did ride great in the main though

Stoked on Tommy's SX debut too... He seems like quite a smart rider, so look forward to seeing him progress more and figure this SX thing out! ha. And like SH said, he hasn't been hyped or even mentioned AT ALL - virtually... Wasn't even on the radar for Matthes SX preview podcast.

I've almost conceded Max Anstie as one of 'your lot' now. I can't help but feel slightly awkward in rooting for him as a 'British' rider seeing as he's basically learnt his skills in the States.

Its not uncommon for Tommy's KTMs to make strange noises. His bikes (and possibly Rattrays) were notable for it in the GPs.
