I wasn't on the boards last night so I'm not sure what happened. I saw him go down but he got right back up and started going again. He was dead last and then got into 20th......and just stayed there? Is he hurt or did the bike get damaged some how? I was thinking maybe he banged himself up.....but the wreck didn't look all that bad really? And if there was something wrong with the bike......he was still out there putting in laps? Wasn't making ground.

Tomac's lap times...

20 1:01.24553.676
19 59.1111 lap
18 57.6021 lap
17 58.5881 lap
16 58.1131 lap
15 57.2591 lap
14 57.5371 lap
13 57.0801 lap
12 57.6931 lap
11 56.9431 lap
10 58.1751 lap
9 57.2991 lap
8 56.7791 lap
7 56.8391 lap
6 57.5101 lap
5 1:10.9001 lap
4 55.6821 lap
3 56.1661 lap
2 1:17.1791 lap
1 0.0001 lap

He gave like 23 seconds on lap 2 and 15 seconds on lap 5 to Josh Grant who was the guy that Tomac and Milsaps was chasing (18th). Tapia and Partridge was just rolling around. Josh did not have big problems, so if you give him 38 second head start in 20 lap race, there is no way Eli could catch Josh..Even if he was the second fastest guy at the track

He crashed a second time. Lost the front end and slid out I believe.

Damn it!! I didn't know he went down again. Man A1 just is not kind to Eli.

I have faith he'll come back swinging next weekend. But he put himself in quite the hole as far as points go.

My two guy Tomac and Canard are who I'm pulling for this season. At least Trey had a great showing!

That saying that you cannot win the championship at A1, and this is true, nobody won the whole thing last night.

However you sure can lose it, and unfortunately I think Eli is out of the Championship hunt now, it will be about playing spoiler.

This can all change if several others fail to make a main or finish in the back of course.

In 09 Stewart's first race was a disaster and he won the championship. Villopoto has had a couple bad early races too. I wouldn't count Tomac out, but I am afraid he is too inconsistent to win it.

Ohh Nice reminder Blus, you are right on Stewart, and while RV2 did have a bad Anaheim on a couple of occasions, I do not think either of them were as far back as Eli tonight. Consistency is key, and he has to show some of it, RV2 was helped 2 years ago by Millsaps imploding while having the lead.

Rv didnt even qualify for the main before and still won a championship. It can be done, lots of work to do now though. Everybosy is gonna have a bad race this year especially with the talent that is out there.

That's a shame for both Tomac and Millsaps. But with the field as deep as it is now, it will be easier to make up the points. When the points leader has a bad race, it will be 7th or 8th, not just a distant 3rd.

He just needs to get in position to take Kroc out in the start of one of these upcoming races.

I wouldn't put any hopes on Eli he may be top 10 if he makes the whole season, Trey on the other hand IMO is a great choice.

Not sure if anyone else caught it but Eli appeared to be really dazed from his first crash. I had to watch it again when I got home but to me it didn't look like he really hit his head that hard. I guess it doesn't take much if it's in the right spot but.....

Not hating on Tomac, I like him and want him to do well. He will need to be consistant for every race and finish up top.

RV2 did have a race where he did not qualify for the main and still won, however he was already up top AND the next closest racer to him also crashed out in the main (JS7) so it balanced out. Roczen could also have a bad race, but then you also need Anderson, Dungey, Canard and a few others to also have a very bad race. Dungey is historically consistent, Canard has been inconsistent historically but Roczen, his bad days generally mean lower top 10, though he did miss a main last year in the 250's.

Tomac mathematically is not out, but it will be very hard to come back from this hole.

I'm pretty sure Roczen missed all the 250 mains last year. Wink

To be honest. I still think Tomac has a serious chance at the title. If you look at the numbers. Last year the 2nd-4th place riders had five 1p mains combined (and the #1 guy is not there). In 2012 RV won the championship and only scored 2p in the last three races. In 2011 RV won the championship with 4p over Reed after missing the main in Jacksonville. Things will happen. But he needs to bring the heat asap.
