Its a stupid race that cost the teams a fortune and pays the riders nothing. No rest time, possibility of injury, dumb.

Agreed, a big waste of time for the AMA riders

Yeah people tend to confuse patriotism with nationalism.

Not a hard decision when Youthstream makes 100000:1 over riders and teams

it's the most sentimental race of the year and YS goes to the bank on it, everyone else gets to do it for

"the love of the sport"
Agreed. Pretty sickening, really.

Keeping my response short, I'm personally bummed Eli said he's not racing, but I'll still be rooting for the three that do go and know they will put up a hell of a fight regardless. We have more than 1 good racer here in the states, this doesn't automatically mean the US loses again. That's why they line up and the gate drops.

I miss the source, don't think I ever dropped as much stats as when he used to post. It was fun for me at least.

I don't know about Zack, his hang it all out in the wind riding style may work against him on a 450. I like Joey on a 250, he seems to be surging right now.

In reality we could get a bunch of mid-pack C riders from Lorettas and stomp those Euro's
LOL!
That's a good team, although Zachary is a weak link and should be omitted.

Tomac doesn't want to ride, or contractually can't.
His hearts not in it, bummer for the fans.
Send a team that wants to go and represent their country, cheer them on with pride, whomever they may be, and enjoy the biggest race of the year.

Just as an FYI, Zach told me he practices on a 450 at times. It's not totally unfamiliar to him...

I'd put JMart on a 450 over Osbourne. I think JMart, Anderson, Osbourne is our best available team

Tomac can make $1,000,000 winning the SX championship and you make nothing winning the MXoN. I will say it again, until the factories put it in their riders contracts that they have to compete in the MXoN we will never send our best guys! Risking the SX championship to compete in the MXoN is like wiping your ass before you poop, it doesn't make any since.

Monster cup is a bullshit race that ripped off the McGrath invitational.

Best thing Roger D' could do would be to say '' thanks Eli, but you weren't my pick for the team anyway''. Do Olympic athletes chose whether to compete on how good the prize money is? I hope he doesn't need a ride at Team KTM any time soon. Shameful behaviour Eli, not making any new fans with this.

I agree! It used to be an honor to ride for the USA and guys were stoked to get selected to ride! Remember back in the day we used to bitch and complain because certain riders were not picked to go? Now they just don't want to go! Used to be about Pride and representing our Country at the biggest race of the year! We as fans couldn't wait for the MXON's! The Top 3 riders from the USA representing the greatest nation in the world! And we would dominate! Now we get ( no disrespect) 3 mid pack guys and get our asses kicked! I know I wanna see our top 3 guys go over there and dominate like we did back in the day! I wanna see another Villopoto ride a 250 and smoke the field!! Something needs to be done!

I wonder if UpTiTes opinion could be swayed if he was suddenly transported into the crowd before the final moto of the MXdN in Europe? You will never find such an all-consuming, electric sense of excitement, expectation and drama anywhere else in this sport. Infact it's quite possibly the most exhilarating sporting event anywhere in the world.

I'm European and the MxdN is only half as good without the Americans there. Without the US it's pretty much just like another GP . Most of us follow the AMA series pretty closely and it's just so awesome to have the Americans come over and ride the gp tracks. But the US guys ride 17sx races plus 12 outdoors. You cannot fault any US rider for not wanting to give up the little bit of off-season they get. The US should not send a team with the schedule as it is now. These guys already have to ride way too much.

Exactly! The atmosphere is insane and all the riders (except Tomac) seem to love riding mxon and always says its the best race of the year.

Its just the crybabys in here that seem to hate mxon all of a sudden because the US havent won in awhile.
