Faded really hard.. Was expecting more, especially after his heat race win interview, he appeared confident there.

He had some problem after a certain lap. All of a sudden he went from a constant 1:03 to a low 1:07, I watched the live timing all the time.
Maybe he cased something and was hurting afterwards. Or something similar.
He looked great in the beginning

The only problem he has is in his head.

I was wondering that too. It's not his stamina IMO you've seen him do 30+2 outdoors. I'm thinking he hurt himself. Shame they didn't interview him to ask afterwards!

I would suggest he is still having fork pressure build up that gives him problems after a few laps.

It irritated me that Ralph and Jeff couldn't call Tomac's timing properly. Instead of accurately calling his times dropping, they said Dungey was on the move once he passed Tomac. Negative, Roczen was making steady gains, something was wrong with Tomac. Then MM25. And JA21 came by and all they said was how those guys were stepping it up.....Anyone else notice this?

He was soooooo confident before his first heat saying how he thought he was prepared last year...... but he was way more prepared this year. Lmao, I bet he feels foolish after all that talk.

In my opinion, too much time out in the boonies with Pops, needs to cut the chord and go out on his own. Got too comfortable. Needs to change things up. Change= Discomfort =growth

I think something happened to him just before Dungey got by him. He had a little gap on him and then Dungey was suddenly in front half a lap later and he didn't seem to be able to run the pace after that

My personal opinion is no matter how good of shape your in. If you ride stiff or tight or get thrown off your game, maybe not feeling the flow that day or having a bad day your going to get tired faster.

I think he started off hot and maybe the pace was a little much for him. Trying to keep up and maybe not feeling great he got tired. This is my guess. Who knows the pressure he is under and how much in his own head he is.

I know if I did not perform up to expectations evev though his year was still really good I would feel a lot of pressure to do better.

Not used to good starts?

Opposite of what I thought his race would be like.

Yeah he went from beast mode to hanging on for dear life in a matter of a lap.
I don't know how your head works but that's pretty weird

I do kind of think that Tomac beats himself in his head sometimes, but I agree with you. Tonight was weird, he looked great, then looked awful in such a short space of time

Probably too much pressure to win

Natvig talked about having meetings on what to do when he wins...I thought OMG that's sounds like a bunch of corporate nonsense...

He started great but He had help from MC

Riding solo in the off season?

Too much Endurance training that doesn't simulate 20min SX High intensity?

Could not keep up the intensity and faded hard?

Yup. Nobody to push and challenge the athlete.
