We started a month long moto adventure and the first stop (and last minute decision) was to stop by Thunder Valley and check out the racing. This is the second national I've been too and it's really amazing to watch these guys. I borrowed a camera and tried to catch some of the action.

The start of these motos doesn't compare to anything else. 450 moto number 1...

And 250 moto number 2. Nelson sure rips those starts!

Ken Roczen was impressive to watch. I've been a huge fan of his since I started riding, his home is fairly close to my relatives back in Germany. I really dig this photo...

Weston Peick had an amazing save. D. Pipes had swapped and high sided into the cavity here. WP40 came flying into it and at the last second pinned it to use the downed bike as a kicker. It was close but WP rode it out. Really impressive riding right there.

This step-down was fun to watch.

Stewart was really laying it over on it. I got a picture of him almost hitting the Acerbis Xblock but it's fuzzy. Here's a shot of him from the other direction. His style is something else to watch.

J-Mart is a beast.

Got ruts?

KTM had a pretty good day I'd say...

There's a few more pictures in the album as well http://thexcadventure.smugmug.com/2014-AMA-Pro-Motocross/ . Let me know what you think!

I bet Weston's tire using the bike as traction had a little something to do with the seat cover coming off, haha

Thanks everyone! It's the first time I've shot anything with a decent camera (D7000) but with a short lens it was tough to get some good long range shots. I'm really excited to do some more in the future.

The seat cover was ripped by WP when he used it as a jump. I missed the ball on that one, I was watching Dustin and at the last second picked up the camera to snap a shot. I uploaded it to Instagram and tagged WP in it, he reposted it later. I'm pretty stoked with that. :D

I was also standing next to the triple step-up looking up the face of it when Nelson went off track during moto 1. Missed the ball on that one as well.

Good photos man.

James was laying his bike so flat over the big table. It was really cool to watch and his style is by far the best out there.

I wanted to get a picture of him laying it flat over that jump but I didn't think it would have turned out well. I got a few other pictures I'll post up later when I get on the computer with internet access.

Yes I did! I took a few pictures of the other one they had. I remember the kickstarter campaign they were running a few years back, it's cool to see one in person. We are still traveling so I haven't gotten a chance to use decent internet but when I do, I'll post up more pictures. I also snapped a bunch today of a personal collection of vintage motorcycles. Vincents, Ossas, MZs, Coopers, Hercules, Bultacos and more. It was incredible.
