Catching Up with Chad Reed
The Three-Time Supercross Champion Talks About His Return to the Outdoor Nationals, His Growth as a Rider in the U.S. and His Career-Long Relationship with Thor

Since making his move to the U.S. from Australia in 2002, Chad Reed has achieved tremendous success. With a total of three AMA Supercross titles to his credit, Reed has become one of the greatest riders in the history of the sport over the last eight years. Despite all of his achievements on the tight confines of the country’s most recognizable stadiums, Reed never quite found those results in the grueling AMA Motocross championship. After a two-year hiatus, the Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki rider has made an admirable return to the outdoor nationals, winning his first career premier 450 Class race at High Point Raceway and following it up with win number two last weekend at Spring Creek MX Park. He currently sits atop the standings, 37 points ahead of second with five races remaining in an effort to round out his dirt-bike racing career by becoming the 12th rider in AMA history to claim championships in each discipline at the pinnacle of the sport.

With the help of Vurb Moto, Thor caught up with Chad prior to his big win last Saturday to discuss his return to the series, how he’s changed as a rider over the past eight seasons and how Thor has been there by his side every step of the way.

Chad is a solid dude. He even got rid of the 4k diamond earings. No more bling with that man. It's all about the fans and the racing. Do it for the love of the game.

Thanks Chad for making 2009 the best MX season in over a decade.

Solid.
I get the feel that he has his end in sight.
A two year deal would fulfill his obligations to ride his series through 2011.
So glad he rode outside this year.

Great interview in that video and great one in tha latest RX. Compare Reed's "8Q" with MA's "10Q" and you'll see why I posted a whiney thread complaining about MA's lame ass answers.

Reed has done a lot to change popular opinion. He's well on his way to a career in politics. LMAO!!! I'm happy to say that I no longer hate him. Smile
