That was the style back then. The late 80's to the mid 90s. Pastel colors (Pink, Light blue, green, yellow, and orange) where the trend. A number of riders wore pastel colored riding gear.

Just cause it was the thing back then, doesn't mean it was a good idea lol.

Try google motocross & supercross racing from the 1988 to the mid 90s then click images and you'll see riders like Jeff Stanton, Ricky Johnson, Damon Bradshaw and Jeff “Chicken” Matiasevich all wearing pastel colored riding gear. Some factory teams and privateers used pastel color plastics, seat covers, and graphics on their bikes. 1992 Yamaha YZs, and 1988 Kawasaki KXs used pastel colored graphics on their production bikes.

"Cross", in this case, stands for cross-dresser..... My 91' YZ 250WR had pastel blue/pink graphics when I picked it up a few years back. Took me abou 10 mins with a blow dryer to remedy that... Still need to lose the blue seat cover but I keep holding out thinkin' I'll rip a hole in it...

That Wr looks cool, the colors suited the white, the YZ's were pink where the WR's were that tealy kinda blue, believe it or not one of those with the original graphics and seat is worth good money because most people tore that stuff off of there. To me and a lot of others, the color thing is kind of like old muscle carsif the bike is bad enough it will pull it off.I have the 500 and love it.

Nice 500! Was looking for one of those myself but got a steal on the 250 ( and hadn't been on an MX bike in 30 years). It's all I can handle at 53 yrs young and compared to my last MXer (TM 125) it's like a magic carpet ride....

I'm not trying to be a dick, Dick. But if that's a current photo do you even ride it? Amazing condition.
I don't think that color is bad.

And what's wrong with being a dick?....... That shot is from the day I brought her home she's a lil' rougher now but not much. I just trail ride in the desert and haven't gotten enough consistent seat time to venture onto an MX track. Plan was to start racing some vintage duffer events but "life" got in the way last 2 years. 15' should be the year I get to the line I've been workin' out and doin cardio just need some seat time. My wife is actually pushin' me to do some racing this summer...she's a keeper. (or she took out a big life insurance policy on me that I'm unaware of)...

Had a chance to ride a 1991 TM125 back in the day. Had a very aggressive mid range but turned like ass.

They were designed for European tracks that were wide open so it didn't transfer to the stop and go tracks here in the USA but over there they were a good tool for the job.

These are some funky looking bikes for sure..but hondas were pink just a few years before. The blue tms with aluminum tanks right after these were really good looking. Max Bartolini won a 125 GP moto in 95 on one.

That's not only a cool pic but it's hard to find any pics of Max Bart on a TM. He won some more motos in 96, I think he went 1/1 in the first GP. They were cool looking bikes, I like the 93 125 and the 96 250 the best. The blue ones with the alloy gas tanks were 98, I almost bought a 250 then but my local dealer talked me out of it and a bought a CR, i didn't regret it too much then but i do now. 97 was the first year they were blue but that had a plastic gas tank.
