I was surprised by my parents with a new 94. My first new bike, it was a rocket.

Those little bikes were pure fucking rockets! I rode one when they first came out and couldn't believe how hard the hit in the midrange. I'd love to have one to ride right now. A good set of usd forks from a yz and It would rule

Also had a 94. Not sure how much they changed since 1989. By far the best engine and perhaps the best bike I ever owned.

Going to buy the kid yellow when it's time. Mostly just to see if they're still comparable nowadays. =-]

I wanted that bike so bad, I had all those pictures hanging on my wall back in the day. Got a few of those R&D stickers from Antunez at the Golden State Nationals at Sandhill Ranch.

I was on bing bikes during those years, but how I longed to be younger when they started bringing those babies out. I did buy my 13 year old son a used '04 RM85 and I'll tell you. It will move my 200 lb ass rapidly across the yard.

That was an incredible year for colors. They nailed it! I loved the RM yellow/blue combo.
