Is this the model Dirt Bike took out to a dry Lake bed and got 120 + mph out of it?

i had the 420 model what a beast. i think the 495 was nick named the great white if i remember.

It was actually the year before this one but the bikes were very similar.

Nice writeup Tony. I can only imagine what a beast that thing must have been.

My buddy had one of the 83 ktm 504's with the big rotax 4 cylinder engine. The one thing I remember about that bike was the absurdly hard seat. Down right painful to have it hit you in the rear. I would find myself shifting my weight foward to avoid getting slapped by the seat thus putting more pressure on the horrible front forks.

If I could have ONE vintage bike. This would be it. Well, and a 1992 YZ490. I had one in grade 8. I learnt what bad handling, detonation, hard starting, vibrating, roost hucking fun was.
