Derek Howerton is a beast on his sx250 and I would love to see him race a national on this bad boy. Skip to 4:10 if you want to see a massive whip.

Yes Kent's son & a good kid.

I remember watching him clear that Finnish line tabletop on a KLX 110!

He's always been fast & smooth.

No and no. From what I understand the kid has shown no interest in racing. Smart move on his part.

I remember hearing him running me down on my fire breathing 74 CR250 while he was on that KLX110. To add insult to injury, I was battling for the lead in the vintage class. I held the little shit off to the finish though! He must have been ten years old, maybe nine.Smile

That's the Cycle Ranch. I've heard numerous stories of some of the carnage of parts he has gone through. I believe that was one reason they switched to a two stroke. He's not abusive, just has things break.

The dirt looks kind of like a sandy type / red clay mix.....looks pretty "fluffy".....is that about right? We don't have dirt like that up here......sure wish we did.

Cycle Ranch has similar dirt to Swan MX Park in Tyler. Better elevation changes at Cycle Ranch. Raced Cycle Ranch once while it was misting rain. Holy $hit, talk about traction. Couldn't see worth a shit, but it didn't matter as I could do no wrong. Regardless of my poor skills, I was cornering on one wheel carrying the front through many of the turns. Amazing stuff when moist.

Kents kid is on a 2 stroke because of his last CRF250. I wish I would have save those photos. The cases exploded out the bottom. I doubt anything out of that engine could have been salvaged. Nasty.

When it's been disked , dragged and moist it's great. As it dries out it gets pretty baked and hardpacked.

I could fix it with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. I'll probably need about 10 quarts of anti-freeze as well, preferably Prestone.

Double Ouch.

Photos are truly "Photoshopped" as I have been told that Honda's never break.

Would that be a case were the bike is totalled? In the sense that it would cost more to fix the bike than it is worth?

honda's name and reliability went down the shitter as soon as they released their pigs

yep, cases are trash, you have to replace the entire engine, maybe not the trans but the way everything else looks, all its good for now is scrap aluminum or a boat anchor

Awesome vid. As usual I have a criticism, why are there little kids on the track at the same time as big bikes?
