Me and my girlfriend have tickets for STL SX. We have hotel reserved for that Friday and Saturday night. We are thinking about coming a few days earlier or staying a few days later. What all does STL have to offer? We are planning to go up the arch, maybe hit the zoo, and a few other things. are there any "Must Do's" to do around the end of march?

This place is awesome also if you're into vintage bikes and cars. Amazing collection: Mungenast Classic Automobiles & Motorcycles Museum

St Louis basically has a plethora of amazing restaraunts, and bars. Google top ones and pick for yourself. The zoo is a fun idea, and the arch if you have never done it. Don't let anyone fool you. The issues we have had are behind us.

We pull in early Saturday to camp at Archview MX track, about 6 miles east of the Dome.

Across the street is a Metro-Link station and we get dropped off at the Dome about noon.
STL has the best pits and dirt!

Sunday is practice day at Archview.

Total moto weekend.

Also, the arch.

Do you like live blues music?

The moto museum is only open on week days but is really, really cool. That is if it still open. Its right next to the Triumph grill.

I took my wife to a concert (toby keith) for her birthday in St Louis this past july and we had a good time. We did all the stuff around the arch and that downtown area. We had a good time. We actually stayed over around the Ferguson area and it was a pleasant area.

I will have to say one thing though, of all the place I've ever been in my life St Louis is void of pretty women. I just saw any that turned my head at all. But now when we showed up for the concert that's a different story. I assumed all those lady's were traveling from out of town!!

The stadium and all is very accessible and it does have a rep for the best dirt. Have fun!!

You were in the wrong part of town then. In the summer go to party in the park on Friday night in Clayton, Shaw Park. Report back after that experience. I say this being an alum of Univ. of Alabama and also have lived in Atlanta, SoCal and now Phoenix. St. Louis is no Indiana or Wiscomsin by any means.

The metro link in to downtown makes that track bad ass. Just bring like 50 locks. And don't forget to get theft insurance. Archives is BAD ASS though.

This place is awesome

Pretty cool if you've never been up.

This place is cool but a little pricey.

Best beer in town and really good food

My favorite place to go. A little sketchy at night but not too bad. Great place to see the "eclectic" people of St Louis.

Best places to eat of you go to The Loop

As far as music? If you went to a Toby Keith Concert, well I can't help you there. Tongue

Don't know when the last time you were at Archview but IMO it's really gone downhill. We live less than 5 miles away and we only go as a last resort. Cool they way they do the SX/Practice thing every year though and they've stopped promising SX people may show up.

The St. Louis Arch, the Gateway to the West.

It's over 600 feet tall and there's an elevator all the way to the top.

That's 60 stories to you and me.

Take a ride to the top of the Arch
Budweiser factory tour
Grant farms tour (this is where they keep the Clydesdale horses for Budweiser)
After the race, The Big Bang on Laclede's Landing is the place to go. Usually has a great crowd and it's a Piano/Drum bar which is pretty neat.

The arch is always neat. It's walking distance from the dome and cool to walk next to the river if weather is decent.

The Landing (Just 2 blocks east of stadium) is tons of bars where everyone goes after the race.
Have had some great times down there almost every year.

Been in Springfield for 10-years and don't know squat about St. Louis...weird but true. Thanks, Steakhead. A coworker of mine told me the same thing. He said Pappy's is the real deal. I'll def check it out. It's not far from the stadium, is it?

I believe the Big Bang is no longer running or atleast I dont think it was last year. Look up BallPark Village we went there last year two days in a row it was pretty sweet if youre looking to do the bar thing. They have a piano bar there as well as like 5 other places in 1. On another not a buddy from work went to a STL RAMS game this NFL season and said that there was swat teams and protestors outside of EDWARDS JONES DOME the whole time. I may go to INDY this year instead.

Hood rats will be hood rats. As far as protestors, that has gone by the wayside.

If you are into Italian food, go to a part of the city called "the Hill". Its not far from the Brewery.

Forrest Park is pretty cool especially if you catch a nice day. Its got a great zoo that is absolutely free and it blows away most other big city zoo's. Also a good Art museum and other cool things to see that were built for the 1904 worlds fair.

Now that we are talking about St. Louis, I realize all the cool things to do and it would be tough getting to most of them in a few days.

So, here is what I would do.

Fri evening hit the Hill and/or U. City loop for fun and food.
Sat. morning hit the Arch.
After the race hit the Landing.
Sun. go to the Brewery and Forrest Park.

Snarfs sandwiches before the race and pie pizzeria after. Both awesome places to eat 2 blocks from stadium. Gonna have to try that BBQ place this year. Tons of bars everywhere.

Excellent train service from airport to within five or so blocks of stadium. Fun to do in daylight but undoubtedly sketchy after the race. I took the train in two years in a row but hooked up with people who had cars at the race.
