The cool part about being Ryan Dungey.....he is a winner whether he spends the summer getting paid to race a dirt bike. Or stays home and fishes.

Have we ever seen a top rider just retire with no prior indication of it happening? Obviously we all speculated this would be his last year but I think we all assumed he'd announce it before so everyone could get their last chance to see him. In 2014 RV kept saying he was riding outdoors but it never happened and it seemed he wanted to go out the same way Dungey is but had to go to the GPs where we all knew they would be his last races.

Happy for Dungey if he is retiring, but you're right, the nationals just got boring.

I think he just lost his motivation to do it. His injury, Kenny's crash and injury, and the rise of Tomac all played a factor if he retires. My boys are going to pissed, they went to red bud last year for the first time and wanted his autograph, and I told them he would be here '17, now he won't.

I'm gonna ride out my prediction of a week ago that he skips outdoors and does 2018 SX. I don't see the benefit of doing it at Anaheim if he's done. Doing it at KTM or Fox would make more sense.
