Chatting with my brother yesterday and we wondered what the next big thing will be in moto.... Not riders, bikes, tracks, race series etc, oh no we want to know what the next BIG thing will be for example

Tape over your duckbill peak....
Roll offs....
Nylon pants....
Neon colours....
A helmet fin....
Baggy pants....
Four strokes....
Neon colours again....
Two strokes....

What's next? What will the cool kids next big thing be?

You forgot everyone and their brothers trying to be whip/scrub pros...corners are no longer important.

Maybe the rev limiter phase may come back, Barcia has been doing better.

Sorry did overlook scrubs.

You may have a point about rev limiters though.

125's, they maybe not the next...but it just makes sense; mighty mites for fun, skill development, simplicity, slower, lighter, mostly safer. Love my 450, but if we only developed 125's this sport could be even funner.
They'll be back to their heyday in terms of percentage of Dirt Bike sales and classes....me wanna believe.

Vintage bike racing on natural grass tracks with black loamy dirt and huge hills. Oh wait, that's already happening. Carry on.

People have been buying up 125's for a couple of years.
Facial hair has been "in" for about 3 years at least!
Spoke covers..... well, I don't know what to say about those... Sick

Have the wiring shortened in your eye like dragracers so you nail the gate drop.

Yep.... Seen everything on here for years. What's next, in all seriousness I think it's gonna be real tight fitting kit/gear and NO I'm not gonna wear it.

MX gear safety will continue to evolve. Lighter boots, lighter gear. Maybe someone will invent a body suit like the road guys wear.
I just don't know what else could really be done.

I agree, I think the gear is going to get tighter, with more stretch!

Easier and better are NOT the same thing.

I weep for the younger riders that wont get to experience a lot of the really crazy and fun stuff a lot of us that have been around for 30 years got to experience.

I sure wish we had go pros back then.

What's your definition of "near?" There's a guy in Tennesse starting a grass track. Real cool dude with a bunch of vintage bikes

The next trend? Hopefully the AMA banning rev limiters... 4 strokes don't need them anyway...
