You've got to start somewhere. Do something, even if it's wrong.

Sounds awesome to me. A big party with some competition. I could do that every weekend and die a happy man. But it won't be the future of pro motocross.

1. No gap jumps. (doubles/triples)
2. No man made whoops
3. No Jumps over 60ft
4. No Steep angle jumps, that vault the bike and rider into a HARD landing situations.

Some of those just seem like common sense. But then again, that isn't so common anymore.

I'll never forget the time I suggested filling the gaps in SX triples making them step up/step down type jumps making it safe if someone came up short (Roczen this year?). The response I got was amazing. Think it even came from another one of those "industry folk". Went something like this..."where is all this dirt supposed to come from"? LMAO, can't fix stupid.

I know everyone is talking about safe tracks, I'm all for something like this but you also have to remember what's on the side of the track that can kill you too

How many guys have died by casing a sx triple? Why are you comparing a local vintage race to a supercross? I'm confused..

Thats the right start.

There is a reason why you don't see doubles and triples in European amateur MX Racing.
And you can build jumps without this stupidity!

If it would be here I would start racing again!
since I broke my ankle on a stupid double (cased it) I don't ride tracks with those stupid man made obstacles!

I ride since more than 30 years and only got injured I would say the regular stuff.
Arm, collar bone and so on.

It is interesting how many riders I met who had a broken ankle due to casing a double or triple!

we started GP racing here in IL a few years ago. the diehard mx guys dont' race it, but many others do. it's fun, and seems to work well. Kind of like Jday, and now this scramblecross stuff.

more track time, less entry fees, less wait time.

no real big jumps, or super tight woods. a blend of many things.

Not to mention different tracks almost every race, (even at the same place)

first one here in IL is April 12th. there are 13 of them this year.

here is video of one.

Track here on Maui is built for riders on the LL path but no matter only a fraction of the participants are on that path. Before the track was changed there were 15 plus vets......now there are only 2 to 3 guys that are still racing.

Tell me how this is good for the sport please.

Sounds boring and awful to me.
Sounds great for the old vet rider though.

I'm glad I have my own track. I was just thinking how sad it was that there's no where in Georgia with a jump over 120. Oh well, guess I will just make one.

Good luck with that and be safe.

That is assuming there will be tracks open but we can't guarantee (with the direction the sport is going in the US) they will be unfortunately.

How old are you? 13? Laughing I'm a 29yo "expert" or "A" rider and I completely agree with these guys. I guess you could say 25yrs of experience makes me a veteran though. I still do all the jumps wherever I go so that's got nothing to do with my opinion.

I think tracks these days are LAME! I like hills, off cambers, ruts, and even bumps too. Most tracks nowadays are under-thought and over-prepped. At some point the challenge of motocross went from the terrain to jumps and whoops.

If you want to jump, become a freestyler. I want real motocross tracks in hills with deep ruts and maybe even a puddle. It seems to me that most of the recent deaths in our sport are coming from kids(-18). Most of which are occurring on jumps. Yeah, they know how to jump, but they don't have the experience and don't know their limits and sometimes it just goes wrong. I know it's not just kids. Freak stuff happens, but at some point you have to protect the people from themselves.

If your track is in Lilburn, you can probably set a ramp up beside your house and jump over the next three lots in your subdivision to reach 120ft....

You think they'll have a safe place to check your balls in at the gate.

Lol. It's not. It's in Lexington ga. I'm 33 now with a 2 year old boy and I ride at 80 percent to stay safe. But something about hitting a big double makes all the other stuff just melt away and puts life back into perspective.

Makes sense. Got family in Watkinsville. Ride DP a bunch with the boys.

I have an idea. Plant Bermuda all over the track, get sticks and a small white ball. Make a hole and hit the ball in the hole. Leave the bikes in the truck so we can still feel cool. I will call it safecross!

Crashes don't occur only on ridiculous jumps. Safer this, safer that, it's damn motocross.
I think you're missing the point. You're referencing professional racing where they are pushing everything to the edge. The idea that this is about is referencing amateur motocross that is just for fun. Big jumps where I felt like a bad ass were fun when I was 17 but I'm 27 now responsible for my wife, son, mortgage, career, etc. and I have the most fun busting berms, going through off cambers, squaring up corners, etc. I think the no double jump is a little extreme personally but I'm up for trying things to attempt to make the sport safer.
