MC has been trying to make "the diesel" stick for Dungey because he gets better as the night goes on. Does anyone else remember Tim Ferry giving himself the same nickname for the same reason. Seems like I remember reading it in a magazine interview with him, and I remember thinking, "You cant nickname yourself". Anyone else remember this?

I do not recall that nickname ever being used for Ferry.

Me either, I dont think it took. I swear I read that he was calling himself that, and wanted others too as well, but no one ever did... But I always think of it when I see or hear of him. Maybe it was JT, Idk.

It was Damon Huffman who called himself the diesel at the end of his motocross career while riding for MotoXXX I believe.

To me Dungey's ride was the ride of the night. Bad crash on the start, comes back to 7th and is still only 1 point out of 2nd place. Disaster recovery ride for sure...
