Regionals cut to 2 moto format? Why?

PitRacer, the motos were getting too short because they were trying to cram it all in one weekend, so we decided to ask all of the Regional promoters to try a two-moto format in 2015 with longer motos. Hopefully, it will make for better racing. If the feedback is that it's not a good move, we will reconsider for 2016.

Thanks for the reply Davey. Just one more thought on it:
Previously in the 3 moto format for classes requiring heat races, the heat races counted as your first moto. In this new two moto format is it going to go back to the heat races being totally separate like they used to be?
I'm sure you guys are still working things out and don't have all the answers right now, just something to think about.

I'm really stoked on our west coast options. Thank you for that adjustment! I would prefer the three moto format though, it favors those who are consistent or have not rode the track prior to racing.

Thanks DC, hope to see you out there!

The problem I see with only a 2 moto format is that so much importance will be place on which heat you are in. Before, if you were in a stacked heat you could go 5-7-7 and still be ok, now if you go 5-7 with 2 firsts, 2 seconds, etc someone who you beat heads up could get the benefit of 'good math' by going 3-8 and getting in from an easy heat. The only way to rectify this would be to require all riders to wear a transponder during practice order them from fastest to slowest and odds go in heat 1, evens in heat 2. That way, the 10 fastest guys should go to moto 2 with presumably a 1-5 finish going into moto 2. Will something like this be implemented DC?

Why would they it's a B/C class. If you're a pro, sack up and ride a pro class or +25.

Could go back to the way it used to be. If you don't qualify out of the area you don't get to ride the regional. It was pretty cut and dry.

Because they said it's a hassle to police.

Even the b/c is kinda bs if you think about it like do you really think a real C rider stands a chance against a B rider ? And then the abc riders that are at Lorretas are not like the abc riders you see at a local track . I cant for the life of me t figure out why the AMA cant see the lap times that the c riders are running umm we all run transponders . . Better yet why do the EX pros Factory Riders National Champions get to run in the same classes ????? Its ok I still plan on beating them but is it Fare NO WAY !

its too bad the new regioinal for the west coast couldnt have added more than 1 new spot than take away 2 from the nw and sw regional. seems to me now a west coast guy will have even a harder time trying to make it. crazy the east coast takes 21 spots and the west coast gets 10. I guess we should be used to this by now

for me it was the top 4 out of the Reg and top 10 out of the area . Its not easy at all and its very expensive . But its something that you will always remember and be able to know you were 1 of the top 40 is priceless

Having just been to the Mini O's, I can tell you Lorettas is DIRT CHEAP. Just compare their hook-ups alone- $750 Mini O's, $150 LL- that about sums it all up.

One would think there will be a vet 30a. This is a class at the 2015 rcsx. This class gives riders a class to race for 5 years until they are 35.

Being 34 and giving up 9 years to a 25 year old is not fun for the old a riders!

From what I've been told is 30+ bc will turn into a 30+ limited which allows anyone that has not held a pro license to race.
To me they should just add classes. Policing the bc is easy, any results as an A rider you're out.

I briefly spoke with Mr. Cotter at the Mini-O's on Saturday and he said there are changes coming to the VET classes for LL's, and they should be finalized soon. Once they have the new VET classes defined they will post that information on the MXSports Website.

LOL when I lived in FL Mini O was Dirt Cheap for me . LL cost 400 just to get your Foot Print ( to step Foot ) on the property . That's the Cheap part To get there you have to do a lot of traveling and racing . It cost me around 2000 in Fuel just to drive to Lorretas . I think this year I will try and keep track of what each race cost me in total

None of it would be a problem if these guys that are old pros weren't trying to sandbag. The issue isn't in the B/C riders it's with the sandbaggers that don't belong there. I also think that if you qualify in that class and place top 20 you should be booted from riding it again. Just like kids in the PW50 class getting letters that they are no longer eligible to ride the C class when they get older.

I think I might go with the Mini O's instead next year. Do they even have any qualifying that you have to do? I checked my class (+25) and it looked like there were only 19 guys anyway.

To win at a Amateur National now no matter what class it is there is nothing Amateur about it . I personaly witnessed a kid get disqualified because he was racing the C class when he was a A rider and got caught . Great parents ha .
