I'm six one and use stock handlebars but feel that I would benefit from bar risers. Anyone out there using them,is it a huge difference?

I'm 6'3 and I run pro taper Carmichael bend bars. I tried bar risers and they felt awkward to me. It's personal preference though. It's worth trying

I swapped over to the TAG YZ Double Hi bend bars when I had my 06 YZ125. It worked really well without a triple clamp or and sort of riser. I am only 6 1 but that was a huge improvement over the stock set up.

6'3" here. I run Windham bend, no risers no tall seat. Tried both, felt like I compromised handling.

I know two tall pros( both 6' 2"ish) both of them run the shortest bend of Renthal twinwall. I'm 6' and I run it also, 921 bend I think. I always thought that tall guys should run shorter bars because their arms are longer. I cannot ride bikes with ape hangers.

Over 6'6"

Tall RC bars... Very tall, not much sweep, opened up the space up front.

Fastway lowboy pegs are good, low profile, down and back about 10 or 15mm I think...

I ran a really tall seat on my last Kato, won't do that this time... Maybe a slightly taller one but I felt it made my cornering a little funky.

just on 6 ft. renthal 996 twin walls (lowest renthal i believe) rolled back on -2 haha. tried high bars and just couldn't ride with them. running them low is how i roll but each to their own i guess you can only try and see what works.

Im only 5'11" but I use RC High bend bars.

The positioning just feels more natural to me. I have better control, it helps my form when I'm standing and I don't suffer from a painful back after riding like I often do with stock bars.

To be fairtoo, Desalle looks like he'd be quite tall and he has his bars down, low and rolled back even. Funky! Whatever feels good!

I'm 6'7 and I like Renthal RC-Hi parallel with the forks, regular height clamps in the forward position. Regular seat and low footpegs.

I'm 6'4'' and run the RC high's. The RC high's are 20mm taller than the stock bars. Takes a little to get used to at first, but its nice to have that extra leverage. Renthal Fatbar's are the shit I might add.Cool

A buddy I race with is 6'3 and uses the Windham bend with some sort of foot peg extension. It only lowers the foot pegs an inch or less but he says it makes a world of difference.

I'm 6' and like the Pro Taper Windham bend. Black for aesthetic purposes.

6'-6" here. I run the RC Highs in the forward bar mount location and rotate them forward a bit past parallel with the forks.

CR Highs are one of the worst bars for a tall guy, imo. They are actually quite short, and they have a LOT of sweep, which makes you drop your elbows and makes the transition from sitting to standing more difficult.

For trails, a taller bar, such as the CR high might be a good option. I am 6 foot and still run a regular bend, but there are times when I would like a taller bar when bashing through trails.

I remember you told me the same thing awhile back. I run CR high bend rolled a bit forward. They are much better than stock for me though.
I'm 6'2" and keep meaning to try a set of RC highs or something but haven't yet. Not much motivation to ride lately with back problems. Sad

The CR High is not a tall bar. They are actually 4mm shorter than the stock CRF bar. They also have much more sweep, which is not what a tall guy needs.

FACT: No one over 5'11 or with a helmet bigger than size large, or with boots bigger than size 10 has won a Pro MX or SX championship in the last 25 years.

Tall guys have no place in this sport. Go play basketball.

I'm just over 6 foot...and I run Moto 12 bend fasstco flex bars (awesome, by the way) with a 30 mm bar riser, in the forward position in the triple clamps (on my 09 YZ450). I L-O-V-E it!

Of course, I ride/race desert hare and hounds and hare scrambles, so I'm standing up for hours on end, and the higher bars and forward bar position in the clamps really makes that easier on the lower back.

I did notice a DRASTIC change in feel in the corners...it felt like it took way more effort to get the bike to lean...but I quickly got used to that and now I don't even notice it.

Having said that, I just purchased a GPR V4 stabilizer, it's an under the bar mount, and is supposed to only raise the bars 3/4inch...so I'm going to see how I like that.

6' 9". I use the Rox Speed risers that way I can use any bend I want but I think another huge advantage for really big riders is how you can move the bars forward allowing more room to get forward in turns.

Hey FGR01, Fuk pro wins, tall people get paid more than short people do. How many pro wins do you have BTW?

Ken De Dycker probably weighs 230 pounds, has boot size 15 and is about 7" tall.

He beat the entire world except for Cairoli.

You mad.

I'm 6'2" and like a regular stock late model Honda layout.

FGR:

Travis Pastrana. 2000 125 National Champion. He's easily over 6 feet tall.
