Loving it so far, coming from a RM250 from '08 i thought it would turn like a house haha!

Well it's far from that, power is great, isn't as powerful or snappy as a KTM 250 (2013) but still this is a more gentler ride and i can ride it better then a KTM Smile

Is this the home track of Herlings in Wolfsbosch/Gemert?

Well it might be more powerful coming out of the corners and the powerband is more useful and better throughout the gears, but the ktm is snappier and not as easy to ride, still i think the ktm is more powerful haha

Nah, it's close to his hometown but he doesn't come here during normal training as the whole track isn't open then Smile

I have the 2013 TM 300MX

Its an awesome bike. Good kick out of the corners.

With 13/48 you can lug all track on third gear and make the big jumps when it revs
out on third.

Rides all the track on third is nice and calm.

I like the KYB forks on mine, The marzoochis on the 2010 i had always started leaking too soon.

The 2013

Yep

The only thing not stock is the Scalvini pipe.

It sucked balls so the original HGS is on now.

All bottom and mid on the Scalvnini.

My next test pipe is the YZ Pro circuit. Fits pretty good. Had a guy i know who tested after hearing about
on the net.

I'd really like to hear more from anyone who's got one, ridden one or has any other info on a late model TM 2st other than what MXA has written about?

I'm very keen to get a 2st again and am thinking 125/144 possibly even a 250. Is the suspension really that bad/hard? Guess i can get the valving specs form a YZ125/250 to get me going with the forks, but what about the shock?

Cheers

Hello

The shock is really good. Had no issues with the old Sachs anyway.

The new TM rear shock is good.

The forks are hard. My importer has modded mine so now they are OK.

If you ride hard and fast they work really good now. Out of the box they were not good.

I have 40+ hours on the Kayaba without leaking,

The minute you slow down or cruise they beat you up. I ride with standard springs in front and
harder in the shock, Dont remember how hard though. I weigh 240 lbs so the stock was too soft.

If you can copy the setup from YZ bikes you should be good. My YZ 250 was really good standard and with
harder springs.

The Marzocchis were not good even after modding. They started leaking quite fast also.

My 144MX should be here in late March, can't wait! It was tough to decide between it or a 300 but I just have the most fun and ride better wringing out the kid bikes.

You are not the only one being forced to modd the KYB SSS. Dunno what's going at the test track at TM, they took what is considered the best suspension from the floor room, (with KYB SSS) and turned into something less. I hear issues with the new bling rear shock as well, crazy set-up from factory, people turning in, turing out settings screws to maximum. Pretty hard to jet the carb as well? Sensitive sucker, at least the 144. Smartcarb and Lectron will have an market!

I wish to dig this euro brand, its totally tits on the stand, but those who think it's any better than an YZ125/YZ250 from 2006 +, the next step in riding experience, might end up disappointed.

I had no problems with the carb on my old or my new.

But i only ride mx and no elevation.

Im considering buying a smart carb. Sounds cool.

But i have no prob with the old so.

The TM is not as good as the YZ 250 but a lot tricker.

For me the 250 becomes too much topend.

The 300 is perfect, And the KTM with 300sxs signed off way too early. Had one before.

Mine has marzocchi(?) Front suspension and sachs in the rear, no problems at all with it. Also the stock hgs system is very allround for the bike from bottom to high rpms!

Sadly it's really fragile and already had some holes and dents in it because of other riders..

Working on getting a DPR pipe on it, it's made using the same mold as a hgs but made from thicker materials.

Ill post a pic of my 012 with new buddyseat and stickers once she's done!

Fixing the forks should be as simple as using the same shim stack and oil height as what the YZ's come with. The shock apparently is very similar to a Showa inside so tuners shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a good setting.

You could try contacting TM directly as well, apparently they are more than happy to help owners with their bike setup and will share their secrets from their ongoing r&d.

True dat. If you are in the big town, I think you know a 144 rider that will get a smartcarb soon (?), he has only waited 8 months (lol). Jetting seems more like a 125/144 issue, so if your 300 is fine, don't bother.

These bikes are the most bling there's, glad you have such a good experience, I hope the brand will grow.
