Suspension

Anyone in here ever tried to take suspension on a airplane? I need to take my suspension on a plane ride and could use some insight on what to do. Like what should i put it in so it will get through security, and wont cost me a ton of extra cash?

Carry on charge. Get a gun case, like for a shotgun. Otherwise not a problem. Lock em up and go.

Gun Case - UPS. Call to your destination to sign for it.

With the baggage charges going up everyday, pay the same or less for UPS or FedX and know it will arrive! Airlines are goons about loosing baggage, especially with expensive items..coincidence?

My friends travel worldwide with complete windsurfing setups...wow, expensive surcharges!

Walmart gun case. UPS next day air.

Or you could check the package in but you do risk not having suspenders when you walk off the plane.

Where are you going?

My buddy and I took ours with us when we went to Europe the one time, we had them in a gun case, and just cheked them or whatever you call it, it was a while ago, and they got to Belgium just fine, and back home too!

I have one of those Pro-Circuit boxes in the attic! Almost vintage, probably bring big bucks on ebay one day. Careful with the cheapo gun cases fella's. UPS can destroy one of those things in a flash. Tape it up really well so when the throw it out of the truck it might survive. I'm convinced those phuckers could destroy an anvil.....or lose it. Get the insurance and make sure you can justify the value you insure it for. Just because you insure it for x number of dollars doesn't mean you'll get that amount if and when the lose or destroy your stuff.

I have used a bicycle case and a home made wooden shipping crate, never used the gun crate. Used the bike box when it flew with me and the crate with UPS.

If you are not changing planes just check it, but if you have a plane change UPS it. Had some get on the wrong plane once at the lay over.

PVC, then wrap your suspension in foam or bubble wrap. Cap one end with perm glue, the other end cap and figure out how you want to lock it. I just use zip ties and duct tape when I use it for fishing rods. I have a link for discounted Pelican cases, I'll have to look for it. It is on another computer, stored. Maybe just google discounted pelican cases.
