So, instead of changing the oil do you just buy a new bike or what?

I wish i had pockets as deep as yours cause then i would go out and buy two 2012 250sx. But since i dont have that much money i was pretty happy to pick up a bone stock 2004 cr250 with 7 total hours on the bike for only $1700. so i spoke with my wallet too but in the used market.

Loving the stock blue accents on that bike. You sell that pitbike yet man ? I'm probably driving down for Easter weekend.

So what's the backstory on this one? Why did it arrive in a UPS box? Did you order it from the U.S.?

Funny seeing pics of you guys with your bikes out in public on the drive ways.. Do that in England and some chav will be back at 3am to steal it. I always try and avoid anyone seeing my bike when I move it from the garage to the van.

Nice bike anyway! haha. That pimped out KTM SX250 thats been posted still gets my vote as most desirable Vital bike. haha.

I have no idea where my son got that hat from, I would have never paid for something like that. It was a bit cool, and he is sick, so he went inside and came back looking like this, to finish putting this bike together Laughing

Mark, I sold the other slightly used bike, but this one will be for sale secon week of JuneWink

I've been too busy with work to go pick up the bike at the dealer, and shipping it freight in it's crate was expensive, so they took it apart and shipped it UPS for me, much cheaper, and it only takes 45 minutes to put it together Wink

i think they are sold out, pocket depth is a non issue. I ended up having to support the economy with a new yz450.

Shit dude that's sad. I leave my bikes out in the yard sometimes when we get home late. We even sleep with the doors open and unlocked. Probably should not post this shit out in the open. LOL

Good luck getting any engine parts for that thing if it locks up on you during breakin like my new 250 did. They tried to tell me I cold siezed her. No way, I know how to warm up and breakin new bikes, I've owned over 30 new bikes and never had one do this. New cylinder out of stock with no release date. It took 3weeks to get it. Put back together by a certified kawi mechanic and she's knocking like my old Chevy truck on bad gas. So ok now you can put a new crank in it. Guess what, not available with no release date. Waited another 4weeks and still have no kawi to ride. Got the crank but the mechanic ended up not having a tool to get the cases back together. I call BS on that one. I would have done it myself but kawi warrantied it and they said a cert. Kawi tech had to do the work. ....... So here I sit with no kawi to ride. I've missed 4 contigency races and the LL qualy held in my hometown, wich is the main reason I bought the bike. I tried everything to get them to release me a new bike so I could race the LL but kawi USA had zero intrest in getting me what I paid for. So good luck. You should be ok after its all broke in.......... Word on the street, they had some cranks set up to tight. Just FYI. Don't want others to have this happen.

Sorry about your bad luck.... but as I said, this is Kawasaki #14 for us since 2009, (and our 3rd 2012 KX450F) and so far, we have never even had one that gave us a hard time starting, never mind any problems.
And all I do with them is keep the air filter clean, and change the oil every weekend. (saturday practice, Sunday race= oil change).

Come to think of it, I've also had a new YZ450F, and an RMZ-250F and both were problem free as well.

There is only 1 brand that was a nightmare, 3 bikes in a row.... I won't buy another one from that brand ever!!

Who can afford that many bikes? I can't so I have bought two bikes in the last three years, both durable and realiable hondas, why buy a kawi they will shit on you with in three months if all the bolts stay in place.

Where did you get that bike from? Never seen a bike come in a box like that before. Did you get a buddy to help you lift that muffler into place, that thing is bigger than the ones on my Chevy pickup.

Sweet bike. I'll be doing the same soon. I've always been a Kawi guy but tried something different this time and got the KTM 450 factory edition (when it finally shows up in FL).

Damn those 12's are purdy. I might have to get rid of the 11 four fiddy for one. How does the 2012 450 compare to the 2011 R-acer? Is there a big enough difference to justify replacing my 2011 for the 2012?

You must not have had an 06 450, they shoulda sold pistons for those things in 6 packs. Not sure what the issue was but EVERYBODY I know that had one had issues with the pistons cracking when they got more than 20 hours on them.
