So my boy ripped on his strider all last summer and rode his tricycle all winter in the house. I went out and bought a pedal bike yesterday. This was his third attempt at riding a bike. Mind you he is only 2 years old so the bike is still to big. on my phone sorry I can't embed. https://youtu.be/ROSkXh1heXw

I have the same thing going on at my house right now. My 3 year old boy has been on a strider since he was about 1 1/2, and started riding a pedal bike about 6 months ago at the age 3. They help a ton!

What kind of bike/wheel size?

We've been racing strider bikes almost every weekend. Great bike. The promoter loved us until I told him this is just to get him started into MX. Not interested in bmx. Plus that whole program they run is confusing. I can't wait till he is ready for a pw50.

It's just a cheap Magna bike slip. Wheel size is 12". A good one was running just over $200. I got this one for $50. When he gets in a 16" is when I will start spending a little more. Been eye balling a a PW ,but still on the fence if I want him to ride or not.

My son is 4...we got him a strider at about 18 months...he road around on that thing for a year....and was peddling at 2 with no problem. He has never touched a bike with training wheels.

He is still too small for a PW50...and I annoyed every time the salesman at the dealerships mentions they can put training wheels on one.

I wish I'd of invented the strider....such a good idea.

I am the same as you Titan. He will never ride any sort of bike with training wheels. I'm going to sit him on a PW this weekend and see how big it is on him.

If he can ride a bicycle with no trainer he can ride a pw. We actually went from bicycle with no trainers to pw the same day. You can set the throttle so low it will barely pull him around the yard.

We are doing the strider with our little guy too. He absolutely loves it and we take it everywhere. He has one at our house, at my office, at his grandparents' house, takes it to big brother's baseball practices. It's awesome how well they get on these things. He started on his when he was about 8 months and he turns 2 next month. I have no doubt he could ride a pedal bike if they had one small enough. He's wanting to get on his brother's pw so bad! He likes crawling up on my RM too. It's gonna be hell trying to keep him from getting into motorcycles, haha

If you get tired of the tricycle riding in the house, you should get the snow bike attachment.

Same here with my little guy, it took him less attempts to ride with pedals than his dad trying to bloody embed this video.....

Anyway here he is at 2 years 8 months two nights ago. He's just moved from his Hotwalk to a Hotrock 12.

My son wore the tires out on his Strider riding inside our house. He first rode his bicycle without training wheels before he turned three. He was riding a PW50 just after he turned three. What is absolutely amazing to me is how many of his kindergarten classmates can't ride a two wheel bicycle yet.

Got the strider for my grandson for Christmas. He loves it. He was riding a pedal bike with training wheels yesterday at a friends house but he was trying to push it around with his feet first. He will be two in July. Boy has no fear so I can't wait to own another PW. I have had about 5-6 of them over the years.

That's awesome. He's riding it great. I bought my son a strider for his first birthday a few months ago. He couldn't quite reach the ground and he can now just tip toe it with the seat all the way down but wow does he love it. He just loves anything that moves. He's constantly pointing out cars, motorcycles and bicycles saying "vroom vroom". I ride him around a little circle track on my pit bike and he has the time of his life. Im not sure when I'll get him a PW. Probably around 3 or 4.

My boy had a wooden Smartbike strider. Was rippin' his pedal bike by age three, and did so on the very first try. If you're thinkin' bout one for your kid GET ONE! They work.

My kid loved his Strider. It definitely helped him to learn balance and he was able to ride his PW50 without too much trouble right away. He's also never had training wheels on anything.

Balance bikes should be a requirement for all kids. Just lump them into your hospital bill when they send you home. Like Detroit said, GET ONE!

I won't even let him ride his friends bikes with training wheels...he's already develop the skill set to balance a two wheeler...training wheels throw all that out the window and I worry it will get him into bad habits. .

I've got a very very small 4 year old-granted he just turned 4 (last I checked he could barely reach the pegs on a PW50). Its funny because he rips around on his bicycle right now, popping wheelies, and jumping curbs and he looks like he's a two year old, he gets a lot of looks and people always ask "how old is he?" Proud Dad. lol
