I wasn't sure how many people have read the entire PR from the FIM, but I just wanted to point out that the 16 month band starts from the date he was tested. This means James becomes eligible to race on the 12th of August this next year, since the test was conducted on April 12th, 2014.

Section from the PR: "Taking into consideration all the evidence adduced, the CDI considered that, on the balance of probabilities, Mr Stewart had established how the prohibited substance had entered his body. Accordingly, the Judge was able to apply Article 10.5.2 of the CAD. Considering all the circumstances and having regard to Mr Stewart’s degree of fault and negligence, the CDI Single Judge came to the conclusion that the appropriate sanction to be imposed on Mr Stewart was a period of ineligibility of 16 (sixteen) months. The CDI further ruled that the period of ineligibility would commence on 12 April 2014 (date of the collection of the sample). Consequently, the period of ineligibility imposed on Mr. James Stewart will end on 11 August 2015 at midnight."

Guessing on most replies here and social media, I'd say there are plenty who haven't read much.

I've seen quite a few people throw out "he's screwed for the next two years!", so I just thought a little clarification might be useful.

I've read it, and most threads and posts in them about this subject on here. You are right, a lot of folks haven't read the whole statement.

To make that date a little more clear, that would be after the 10th round of outdoors.

This is pretty cool: Apparently if you type your password on a post, vitalmx automatically converts it to asterisks. For example, my passwords is: *************.
Is that neat or what?
Try it out below.

You can also go on and state that he won't be riding the GPs or any other FIM sanctioned events. Probably not ride Canadian Nationals, no one will most likely fill his spot at Suzuki since they got Blake Baggett a more than qualified rider to represent the team etc etc. That's what I've learnt from today anyway. Let's put all useful information in one thread and throw the rest where it belongs.

I also read that all his results post Seattle SX will be vacated.. i believe it was in the FIM PR?

yea i did read that, i guess im not crazy lol:
In accordance with Article 10.8 of the CAD, the CDI ruled that Mr Stewart is disqualified from all competitions in which he participated (including the four rounds of the 2014 national Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series) subsequent to the collection of the sample (12 April 2014) and all results he obtained in those competitions are cancelled with all the resulting consequences including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes. The FIM will therefore modify the rankings of the 2014 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, accordingly.

Sadly, it won't help those already out on the ledge.
