The Yamaha 125 is a pretty nice machine even if it does have some age on it. I was very surprised with them. I beat 450's regularly last year when I had mine and it was bone stock, no porting either.

They didn't.

Why would you tear down the guy who finished in 27th place?

Now if they started bragging that it was a big-bore, that'd probably prompt a teardown.

That is true but maybe because it's a 2 stroke.

Maybe because it's a two-stroke what?

What's your tolerance for exercises in futility? I'm guessing low. Same goes for the people who'd be doing this.

Very possible that Steinke gets a top 20 on the YZ125. His lap times are decent, but he didn't get a great start in either moto and probably made some small mistakes in each moto, slight drop-off last 4-5 laps. Assuming he will knock some of the rust off and get a mid-pack start at some point, I think it is entirely possible to see a top 20. BTW...he won the final arenacross main and OA of the season, in Las Vegas, against some pretty solid competition.

Ya, it would. If the bike wasn't quite tuned to his liking, and he gets it dialed in, as was mentioned above, a top 20 may come soon. He probably realizes that many eyes are on him, and this is a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills. I bet he's working hard to make it happen. Best of luck Gared.

Those 125s handle really good. If you can't get those things to turn there is something wrong with the rider.

And I would say, in the rough, the suspension will allow it to handle better than both the KTM and Husky.

That is awesome!!! I wish it would have gotten a little more press. I found out on Instagram after the races were over.

I spent some quality time chasing a 05 yz125 today, man that thing smelled good!!! Lol!

A ohlins kit I would think could fix that, what I have read the KTM motor is light years ahead off the yamaha , maybe some one that has owned bolth will chime in .

When was the last time a bike has been tore down?

I was under the impression that it almost never happens.

You mostly see it in the 250 class. I know of one time for sure during SX (I watched a bit of it), maybe twice. Usually they pick one from each brand.

Renner got his bike, a YZ125, torn down after openly admitting on here that he was riding a cheater bike. That was back in 2012 I think. That generated a lot of publicity for him when he raced that thing !!
