South Region Qualifiers for Amateur National Arenacross Championship in Las Vegas Announced
AURORA, Ill. (April 7, 2011) – The on-track action for the 2011 AMA Arenacross Series will come to a close this weekend in Des Moines, but while the highly-talented professional riders are actively preparing for next year, the country’s fastest amateurs are preparing for their chance in the spotlight at the biggest race of the season. Each year, the Amateur National Arenacross Championship (ANAC) pits the top amateur competitors from across the U.S. in a fight for an AMA National Championship across 23 different classes. Recently, the final qualifiers from the South Region were set and the top-five riders from 24 classes booked their ticket to Las Vegas in just a few weeks.
“The amateur competition this season has been exceptional,” said series director Jayme Dalsing. “There has been a lot of talent out on the track throughout the country and now we have three regions ready to go. I think we might see some of the best racing ever in the ANAC.”
The 2011 ANAC will commence on Sunday, May 8 from South Point Casino in Las Vegas, just one day following the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, finale from Sam Boyd Stadium. This year marks the ANAC debut from South Point and its state-of-the-art Arena and Equestrian Center.
As the 2011 AMA Arenacross Series enters its final round of action this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, the remaining ANAC regions will be finalized following the action on Sunday, April 10.
Here is a rundown of the top qualifiers from each class that will represent the South Region:
