Somewhere between 60 and 80 hp, with a dyno chart to prove it

Call me crazy, but if you have a dyno chart, don't you think you could narrow the HP down a little better than that range. And what does "getting on the powerband" mean exactly?

I mean that pic of the jug and bore look cool, but it's obviously not a 250cc anymore. How do you have a piston that's twice the size, but is still a 250, but then go and compare it to 500afs. And don't even get him started on 450s, they don't compare lol

Wow, "half the weight of a CR500"! What must it be like to ride an 80 horsepower 116 pound bike?!

I like that the hinson clutch had to be specially fitted for a CR250 because of all the torque.

That's what I was going to post slip, but I just checked his site, and it shows they're still working on it. You have any more info? I wanted one for my 93.

I read he was asking for something "fare". Did he mean cab fare.

Also, is the new 21" knobie the new and improved knobie that Darth Vader cut down in Star Wars at the end.Smile

No info, I just worked on one of the Yamaha ones before. They are all the same crappy TRX 250 cylinders cast to fit different bottom ends. I personally would steer clear, the cylinder came with the sleeve .012' above the cylinder and multiple emails and phone calls got nowhere, he never responded. I've seen many people complaining of the same lack of customer service.I only had the cylinder for porting, but have seen people claim the squish comes in at over 2mm also.

Like I said, the motor does look pretty burly. Just the overall ad and price were too ridiculous not to share.

What is Dumond oil?

This is my favorite part: : "I left out what all has been done to it so not just every one knows. If truly interested let me know and I will send you all that info."

Soooo, you are selling a bike, but you need a secret key to get the knowledge of what special things have been done to it?

Brilliant!

I think a polished frame and swing arm look cheesy, I wouldn't let that thing out of the back of my truck without scotch brite-ing the fuck out of it.

They are talking about this oil...

Dumonde Tech Oil
Dumonde Tech Oil

You may not be familiar with the name, but Dumonde Tech racing oils is the most advanced 2 & 4 stroke lubricants we have ever used. The Dumonde Tech oil line was developed from aerospace and chemical R&D to produce a line of racing oils that spare no expense or secrets. Try some today and we guarantee you'll see and feel the difference.

Why Dumonde Tech

I have been using Dumonde Tech racing lubricants in my racing engine builds for nearly over 20 years. I have been involved in countless hours of ATV and off road engine development, including race track and dyno testing. In all the years of development I have never found lubricants that meet the needs of high horsepower racing engines as well as the Dumonde Tech product line.

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

Good find PT, that does appear to be it, pipe and all. I forget who i read made the cylinder for ESR, but it is either the same company or another company doing a cheaper copy. They use the same povervalve and intake port design, but this one appears to have a nikasil bore instead of ESR's steel sleeve. Head design looks very similar too.

Maybe it's one of those deals where he told his wife he would sell it, then slapped a silly price on there knowing nobody would pay that much for it?

Not even broken in or on the powerband yet he knows it will rip your arms off and outrun any 450 or 500.

I guess he doesn't consider the engine to be broken in even after pulling 80hp on the dyno. 80- horse is pretty impressive for not even getting on the powerband. Imagine the numbers it will push when he opens'er up and lets'er eat.

I think Geico didn't save him 15% on his car insurance so he is a little pissed he took more than 15 minutes to fabricate that ad...
11/21/2014 5:26am
High compression piston on a 2 stroke? He must know something all the factory teams never knew!

2.5-3 hours on it and its not broken in?!

this 10 paddle tire spins like an 8, so lets put it on the bike! Why would you put such a bad paddle on it if you need an 11-12 for sand with this bike?

The logic here is very questionable....
