Absolutely! And for 500.00 I would pick her up! Bet she is long gone now.

I'm only 30 minutes away too. And of course he's selling it the one day I loan my truck to someone.

Good on his dad. Hopefully this will teach his kid a lesson. I have nine grandkids now (yes I'm old) but a lot of kids now days just don't have the respect for their parents or rules and think they deserve everything. I think taking something that means something to them sometimes is the only way to make them wake up.

Find out if it's still available and send me a message or post on here. I may be able to help you out. I don't need to make $500, but $200 is probably reasonable for the effort, and fuel it would take.

I sent him an email asking why he's selling it so cheap and not trying to get a fair price for it. This was his response.

Good on him, I have to stand by and watch my nephew get shitty grades and his parents do hardly anything about it, drives me absolutely crazy

Hate to say it, but it's a prank. I saw that same post here on the West Coast within the last year.

Maybe it's real maybe it's not. I talked to the guy on the phone and he sounded legit. I looked up his address and it was real and in a nice area. If the add was real (says he sold it on add now) I think the lesson was well worth the $2,000 lost on the deal. Now his son knows he is serious about doing good in school and bet he won't fail out again. Teaching your son a lesson in life he'll never forget is priceless.

i find it interesting that you feel the father is stupid for being a father... And a good one at that.

You would shit to know what my father did for me to provide life long teachable moments... This was nothing!

What? No that's not what I meant, I think it's fuckin great, I see too many undisciplined kids walking all over their parents

But the fathers stupid for giving it away for $500.

Yeah right, brilliant way to teach your son a lesson.
The only thing he's gonna learn is to hate his father.

Yep, In this "Got to Have It Now" world we live in, you're probably right, sad, but true.

I have the feeling that maybe grounding the bike for the whole summer would have been quite enough...
But raising kids is one of the most difficult things in the world, it's very personal too and we don't have any idea of their relationship or the whole situation...
Still a sad situation where everybody loses, IMO...

Why not lock it up and say to the kid that he'll get the key when he takes care of his shit. That way he'll have it in reach and something to strive for.
5/28/2016 2:32am
Would be better having the bike locked up un-useable as a constant reminder, kid will probably just go out and get on drugs now, I know bikes kept me on the straight and narrow as a kid.

If I wanted to teach my kid a lesson that bad I'd take the bike to a friends house and leave it there and let him think i sold it . If he got his grades up in a few months bring it back .He's throwing his hard earned money away if he's selling it way less than its really worth. I mean an 08 250f isn't worth all that much even if it is in running condition etc. Maybe 1200- 1500 . His son is going to take it to his friends house blah blah blah??? What??? Lock it up in such a way he can't take it, I mean really none of this makes much sense to me but oh well, not my deal.

Kids these days? I say parents these days. It sounds like he is trying to close the barn door after the horse has already gone out.

And yes I am a parent and father of 4, 2 just reaching adulthood and none of them disrespect me enough to go against my wishes.
