Super Combat! The cases, cylinder and head have a nice shiny finish on the castings. Soda or vapor blasting would probably give you great results. Paul at Strictly Hodaka is a great source for all things Hodaka.

Great pic of your boy working hard on that cool bike. Next time you have the front wheel off turn the nubbies on the left fork slider to the inside. Good stuff for sure.

Thanks for the info, I have a bunch of stuff with it, Preston Petty fenders that never seen the light of day and have a few things from strictly hodaka, expansion pipe etc. this was my father in laws and it sat for 20+ years.

Soda blasting is cheap and my results have been spectacular on aluminum parts. I'm very detail oriented when it comes to making old stuff look new and soda is the best thing I've found in 43yrs.

Mind sharing your soda blast setup with us? I've had mixed and mild success with DIY soda blasting. I've paid to have parts vapor blasted and liked the results.

Cheap Harbor Freight gun, lotsa soda and high pressure, large capacity compressor. I run at high enough pressure that the soda actually eats the gun up after a couple hours of use.
My biggest complaint is that it makes one helluva mess.

I have the harbor freight handheld gun too. What soda are you using.

Do you use baking soda or washing soda? I have yet to use the latter but I'm thinking it might do a better job. Or maybe a mix of both.

Crushed Walnut shell puts the nicest shine on aluminum that I've tried. I used all kinds of media and prefer Glass Bead because it removes oxidation, small pitting, and shines very well.. So it's a good mix.
