It's possible he won't resign after 2017, especially if Dungey is done and KTM throws a huge offer at him.

You'll here about it again at the end of next year. My understanding is he was really pissed when Monster wouldn't let him ride MXDN. Ill bet you a soda he'll be riding for another team next year.

I hadn't heard that they didn't let him. Can you elaborate?

Yeah, I hadn't heard this either. What I had heard is that Eli basically said "you have to say no at some point to more and more off-season races".

I think he was more upset that he was required to ride the GP's. I could be wrong, but I don't think Monster had anything to do with his decision on not racing the MXON race. I took it as he just needed a break.

BUT..... I'd also put my money on him heading to KTM for '18, "IF" Dungey decides to retire. As far as Ryan retiring, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, for all the previously mentioned reasons.
KTM has plenty of money to pay him, their budget sure seems bigger than everyone else's these days. (Somewhere near 8-9M, if I've been told correct info)

It seemed to be more like " Eli, you HAVE to race the two mxgp's and the MEC. The mxdn is your call, but we know you will go... even though that is alot of racing for a racer. Wait...so you are not going?! Really?! You look mad, Eli."

Later after the two mxgp's wins: "Fantastic wins Eli! Here is your bonus money from ME." It makes Eli smile.

Then after the MEC win, Eli has an even bigger smile and bigger check.

He may want to leave and head to KTM or RCH or may not. I think it all depends on how he does with the team in 2017. ME Kawi has the cash to keep him, I imagine, if it came to that.

they looked pretty happy as a team at mec. especially eli and williamson seem to have a good vibe going on. I guess it will all depend if eli can win on the bike. he is a proven winner, we all know that there is nobody who can stop him if he is 100% with the bike. if it will be a 2015 repeat, I can see him leave but right now he said he is happy with bike and team and he looked way more aggressive at mec. regardless, ktm will try to get him and maybe they can convince him no matter how good he feels with kawasaki.

Eli's mechanic is still Brian Kranz btw, but Mike Williamson is his "crew chief".
