A micro drone with a Japanese serial number?
Just sucks beyond belief, and really want to know what the failure was.

I'll still take the EFI bike over the carb bike any day...

No shit. I don't own a "new" bike, but are FI and Air Forks really upgrades? Seems like they just open more options to break easily.

I can see why you would like FI if you didn't know how to jet, but what is the advantage beyond that to the average consumer?

Have you ridden a fuel injected bike? Given the choice I'd take a fuel injected bike over a carb bike 10 out of 10 times.

Same thing that happen to Langston's in 02 it cost them another championship potentially. JK I would have liked to seem Marvin and Jeremy run both moto's.

Once or twice.

I'll take my carburetor for my purposes, but my days of motoing down and wanting/needing every ounce of performance are gone. I just think some of this technology is getting shoved down people's throats and they might not want/need the headache that comes with it. With that being said, a bike with carb issues can make you want to throw it off a cliff as well!

Am I becoming the old crotchety guy who walked to school uphill both ways? Fuck...

With these "hi-tech" bikes comes more complicated issues. Langston touched on the subject throughout the race.

Yes they're upgrades... How dare thee! Just like spending a few thousand on an A-kit suspension to practice race...

Lol
Suspension is the biggest pperformance gap $$$$#-if technology narrows that gap, cool.

I ride in the woods now. Have seen too many issues due to electronics.

A carbed 2stroke
An EFI 4 stroke with bells and whistles
-great choices

When they failed on you... any warning signs? while you were riding? on first start up?

Just curious about your experience being new to the FI world myself.

I really doubt KTM will ever say what the real problem was. Fuel Pump is an easy scapegoat. I bet it was something different.

It cracks me up when people say FI is easier than jetting. Let's see, carb..doesn't run right. Replace a few $5 pieces of brass. EFI, doesn't run right.. drag out the laptop and your $350 tuning software and fiddle-fuck around for hours. Now let's talk troubleshooting. Carb bike--clean the carb and rip. EFI bike.. pull your frickin hair out replacing ECM, capacitor, fuel pump, fuel injector, wiring harness, testing TPS, replace air pressure sensor, coolant temp sensor, air temp sensor........

I went about as high as you can go for the answer. It was preliminary, but they'd plugged into the bike and that's what it was pointing to.

The bike would fire and run (I watched Frankie head back to the pits on it), but wouldn't rev.
