So what does Pourcel want?

Right from RacerX:

After Bercy, I'll go back to Florida. We also have to do suspensions testing with my KTM.

And for the 2013 season?
I didn't decide anything yet but I already refused several offers. If it don't get a bike to win it's completely useless. My contract is done with Kawasaki. I now have the support of KTM France. That being said, I have nothing specific on hand signed for now but I want to focus on the Bercy Supercross. We'll see. One thing is certain: I do not want to return to the World Championship GP.

He just wants to dance..........

10/15/2012 2:07 PM

He wants Stewarts raw speed, Dungey's consistency, Canards work ethic, RV's bike, Wey's reputation, and Reeds money!

10/15/2012 2:10 PM

Is he still eligible for Lites SX?

10/15/2012 2:11 PM

He is picky

10/15/2012 2:13 PM

All depends on what he defines as a bike that can win.

A factory bike? A Pro Cicuit bike?

10/15/2012 2:23 PM

if what he wants is to be left alone then he is very close to achieving his dream

With DD out with another injury, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitch put him on a 450 (or even 250) for supercross.

That's what I want too!

Her guess is as good as ours, and she knows shit. But a factory ride with Kawasaki, and a huge chunk of cash would be my guess...

He doesn't know what he wants.

I've been here 15 years , am I still English, man ???

10/15/2012 3:00 PM

As my Aussie mates would say, " he's a fastidious prick".

10/15/2012 3:01 PM

But I gotta admit I really like watching him ride. Smooth.

I believe he is just NOT selling himself short. No problem with that.
He is a top 5 caliber rider indoors 450. He should get compensated fairly for that.

Please appreciate that I call a spade a spade. I'm a straight talker with no connections and no agenda. I will happily apologize if I'm wrong and If I am right I will not gloat. I love the sport and that's all there is to it.

I'm pretty sure he isn't eligible since he won 2 lites titles in a row.

How does one assume this. We haven't seen him ride indoors forever(unless I missed something). The field is so deep. And with the new additions. I guess we all have are own opinions. But I disagree with respect for your opinion.

One that isn't blue? :-)

No, seriously, that 's a good question. He just had a fairly competitive GP season on basically a stock bike with some PC bolt on parts. No factory support whatsoever. So I'm curious about what he needs on the SX side to be competitive.

I have no hard evidence, other than the fact then when he was racing AMA lites SX he had "championship contender form" mixing it up with Canard and the likes.
IMO once a racer has "championship contender form" they never lose it.
I believe a guy like Pourcel could take 2 years off and still come back and beat someone like Millsaps who has been racing the entire time... why? Because Pourcel has championship contender form and hence believes he can win. Thats why.

Well, then he should want to win Bercy rather than just make the French fans happy. I set goals every time I go to work. Remember just my opinion.

What is your program by the end of the year?
I have two other "Charity Day" planned: one in Lacapelle-Marival (Sunday) and the other in Châteauneuf-les-Martigues (October 28). I think a lot of people will be coming. I then ride at Paris-Bercy SX on November 9-11th. I have no particular goal for that event. I'll do my best to ride up front with the best but all I want to is to please the french fans. After Bercy, I'll go back to Florida. We also have to do suspensions testing with my KTM.

What about the team Langston manages? Don't they have factory support now?

That KTM team is done... I think.

Didn't really think when I asked right away about his eligibility as I forgot his 2 consecutive Lites SX titles... just thought about how they keep changing the rule.

You do realize Millsaps was a regional 250 champ too, right? Going with your theory, he too should be "championship contender form" since he has been there.

No discredit toward Millsaps intended.. who got 2nd in the (injury riddled) Supercross season this year.

I know hind sight is 20/20, but don't you think 2012 would have been the best possible season for Pourcel to be riding in the US on a 2nd tier team? If he could have put in a solid season, which he would have easily done, and all the injuries in the top tier, he would have been assured a top ride for 2013. It seems to me that his instincts really bit him in 2012. CP is damaged goods and won't be touched when there is so much other talent out there.

Yeah for sure, lets say a guy like Brayton then.
I feel bad naming names like this, but there is a clear difference between the championship contenders who line all their ducks up in a row and expect results vs hard workers who hope to finish top 5 and put blind faith in their team and bike..
