Sorry if this is already old news, but for the first time I truly believe that RV will be in GP's next year! This year we usually left before the 2nd MXGP race, because there wasn't too much happening. So excited! http://www.dirtbikerider.com/news/latest-news-s1/Villopoto-MXGPs-or-AMA…

“Ryan’s knee condition might have affected him for the start of the supercross season but it is supposed to be fine to allow him to be fully fit for the start of MXGP.”

What a huge coincidence!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matthes tweeted that according to a source he trusts, it's a done deal. Looking more and more likely by the day.

About time, I have always been a huge RV fan but I have gotten bored watching the past few years. This SX season will be much better without him. I still hope he goes over and kills it over seas and tops off an amazing career and if he does get a beating. I hope the following season we see AC222 and Herlings in the USA. just my 2cents

In my opinion, whether he wins or loses the MX1 championship next year, this move makes him the GOAT, or whatever you want to call him (once again, IMHO). For a guy to win in the US like he has (where historically has been the ultimate destination for most riders), and then just walk away from a shot at a 5th strait SX championship...that is ballsy and incredibly awesome.

Yup going to the GP's, even if he loses, makes him better than RC. No biggie he only won 2 450 MX titles in 6 yrs. Oh yeah it is, he's not even in RC's zip code

Cripes- someone get that dude an editor. Like looooong sentences much. And wtf does this even say?:

The Brit also commented that the chess pieces moved to accommodate a possible Grand Prix place for Villopoto was not dependent on the recent work by Kawasaki to tie reigning World Superbike Champion Tom Sykes to a new contract. The rider recently inked a two year deal to stay Green in WSB. “It involved the same group of people and our priority was to get our champion tied up for the next two years and also a winner; that winner being Ryan,” states Guttridge. “The deals for each rider did not really interfere.”

RV and his good friend Tyla Rattray will be on the same team....I am sure that is one of the "bonus" of this agreement...

No shit, huh? How quickly people forget. Ryan Hughes once said something along the lines of "RC will be the greatest until this sport dies". There is only one greatest of all time, and all time is forever. Wink

If he goes, and even if he wins, he isn't better than RC.

But, if he does, he's on a whole different level, imo.

i agree about him not becoming the GOAT or whatever, but it didn't take long for #TeamDungey to show up, that's for sure

This would be awesome if it actually happens. I would love nothing more than RV to win over there. I've always rooted for RD over RV (mainly because RD has always kind of been the underdog to RV) But I'm definitely pulling for RV. It will be exciting watching him against new competition and racing new terrain. Youthstreams sales just quadrupled.

who gives a fuck about being the goat or not!
damm you guys just find anything to bicker about !!!!
I personally think it will be interesting what AC222 will do with lots and lots of pressure.

So is there an online streaming package for the GPs?

Sign me up if there is.

Definitely doesn't make him the GOAT.

haha, thanks for that insight. I started this out with "in my opinion" because who am I, or you, to determine the greatest rider of all time. But thanks for making your statement as fact. I will now respect your authority.

wouldnt it be funny if AC222 and Herlings come over here next year to avoid him.Grinning

No, thank you.

Best thing to happen to motocross in a long time! Fans who have little or no interest in the GPS will now and the same could be said for the fans who have little interest in the nationals!

If RV went to Europe, I would be a die hard fan for life.

Not that what I think matters obviously.

Herlings is not even in the same class. What does he have to fear? Get lapped on a Tuesday?

Youthstream should be picking up at least half of his salary.
