I think this is great!

I hope he does really good. Winning the Mxgp title will add to his legend.

Not really.

Roczen is loved by most American fans & everytime I go to the ATl SX, it's very obvious. Nobody cares where he's from except ignorant people like yourself. He's a cool guy, a great champion, extremely likeable & thats why fans here like him. People aren't bias because he's German.

And yes, it will be RV vs the world. We welcome euros when they come here & win, but if it's anything like how Jimmy D was hated on, the euros will be praying for anyone to beat "the American" & hope he fails. And they'll hate it if he beats their champion

Ps: Roczen & Reed are my favorite riders because I like their personalites & their riding. I can't stand RV. it's dirtbike racing, 0 fucks are given where a guy is from.

Any GP fans going to be cheering for Villopoto this season? Just curious.
9/30/2014 11:13am
I've never been an RV fan - I only watched mx/sx to watch Stewart - but I am a USA fan - so it will be weird to cheer for RV - and to actually start watching the GPs. I have never watched one.

Yup !

Always been an RV fan ever since I saw him on a lights bike, that may only have been in 07 but it's long enough.

He's a beast of a generation, what's not to cheer for. Now if tommy gets a run at the title,.........then I'm switching sides, fair?

They are worth watching, they really are, just don't judge them on fucking Qatar or Thailand.

I don't think RV will be "hated" over here, I think he'll have tons of fans, just as Osbourne did. But if it was Barcia for example it probably would have been different Whistling

I'm not sure if cheering for him is the right word, but I would be as happy if he won it as if Cairoli or Paulin did.

And yeah sure people were enjoying that Decotis did have a hard time, but that's more because most of the american fans attitude towards the GPs, than towards Decotis himself.

I wasn't sure if you guys would be or not. I know on one hand some Europeans will cheer against him because he's an American and on the other hand I know some Europeans would be glad to see a new champion. For any of you that haven't gotten to witness him ride, it'll be amazing. If only Herlings would move up, that would be incredible. We will see some great racing come GP season.

The million dollar question is which rider is the favorite going in?

He's racing like every other guy there, its not like everybody will go all in now to beat him (at least not because he's american, ofcourse its cool to say I beat one of the greatest riders ever)
And you can be sure that he will have a warm welcome at every GP and a growing fanbase all over the world.

Its also not Roczen vs the USA even if the rest of the riders is not split up into 20 countries

If Herlings came to the US you better bet your ass I would be cheering for him! I know that isn't the answer to your question, but it does put perspective on it.

Roczen for example was a fan favorite instantly. Even then though, there were still Americans cheering against him simply because he's from the GPs. It's unfortunate when people cheer against a rider because of the actions of so called fans, most of which refuse to give the other side of the pond credit.

I still want Desalle to win that MX1 title, but I'm not going to boo him. I'll be equally as happy to see him out there as anyone. But he comes with a lot of excitement and will lift the competition to a higher level and that's always good in my opinion.

I'm a long time CAiroli fan...but with RV in the series...I'll be cheering for him as well.

I'd love to see a season long dog fight between the two BEST riders in the WORLD...

I don't think RV will win the title his first year (unless Cairoli gets injured...and I think Cairoli will be his MAIN competition for the title...other riders will win motos, maybe even an occasional overall...but its a Cairoli/RV title bout)...but if his contract is two years...the second year he will have all the bugs worked out and will bring home the title.

I just hope desalle paulin and jvh have a good off season, I would not count out any of them.
Van hoorebeek was unbelievably constant this year, he will be there every weekend upfront and if he just improves a bit speed wise from this year, he will be right up there.
Cant wait already, I can't eeven think of a year when I was more excited for the GPS than for the nationals...

he's got a lot stacked against him compared to the competition- culture shock, track unfamiliarity, etc...

i am extremely pumped to see the gps now.
